Role Overview:
The Compliance Manager - AIF - Private Equity role is responsible for ensuring the firm's compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies related to its AIF operations. This role involves working closely with the investment team, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs. The Compliance Manager plays a critical role in safeguarding the firm's reputation and ensuring the integrity of its investment processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance program for the firm's AIFs, ensuring adherence to SEBI regulations and other applicable laws.
- Conduct regular compliance reviews and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor regulatory changes and updates, and communicate their impact to relevant stakeholders within the organization.
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports to SEBI and other regulatory bodies in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance-related matters, promoting a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues and complaints, ensuring appropriate resolution and remediation.
- Maintain effective internal controls to prevent and detect compliance violations.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities during audits and inspections.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement compliance programs in the context of Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), specifically Private Equity.
- Strong understanding of SEBI regulations and other applicable laws governing AIFs.
- Proven ability to conduct compliance reviews and risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential areas of non-compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to analyze complex regulatory issues and provide practical solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in law, finance, or a related field; a professional certification in compliance is preferred.
- Minimum 5-6 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field, with specific experience in AIF compliance within the Private Equity industry.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
