Job Title: COMMUNICATIONS LEAD

Reports to: CEO

Location: MUMBAI (Full Time, work from office)

Introduction:

The organisation is a Mumbai-based, independent domestic philanthropy. Established with a vision to create meaningful and sustained social impact, it initially operated as the CSR arm of a leading financial institution before transitioning into an independent philanthropic organisation.

Over the years, it has built a diverse portfolio of partnerships across areas including education, healthcare, environment and disability. The Foundation envisions an inclusive India where vulnerable communities have the access and opportunity to move from a state of surviving to thriving. It works as a long-term partner to organisations that enable the most vulnerable to live with purpose and dignity. Its portfolio includes flagship initiatives across key thematic areas such as climate, education and community development, along with a select group of long-standing partners working across sectors.

About the role:

The incumbent will build and lead the communications vertical of the Foundation, as it embarks on its new strategy as an independent philanthropy. The position involves envisioning and creation of a robust communications strategy, that effectively communicates the Foundation's new thematic focus and builds brand recognition, post its transition from a corporate Foundation. The role requires ideation, creative thinking and execution abilities of an effective Comms strategy, whilst engaging all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

- Developing a Foundation level communication's strategy with the objective of creating i. a strong brand identity of an independent domestic foundation ii. a well-planned communication on 3 thematic portfolios

- Create a powerful narrative that aligns with Foundation's mission and resonates with diverse audiences

- Oversee the creation of high-quality content, to creatively portray new communication ideas and thoughts for information dissemination

- Work closely with the Foundation's programme team to ideate and showcase our projects across various physical and digital platforms

- Lead the development of annual reports and other collaterals for specific events undertaken by the Foundation

- Ideating, building and managing programme driven, communication events including FGDs and disseminations with partners

- Build and develop relationships with the Comms teams in core partners

Required experience and competencies:

- Post Graduate with a degree in communications, journalism, literature or similar qualifications

- 8 - 10 years or more of work experience in communications, with some part in the development sector is preferred.

- Very good written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives and messages

- Experience in managing digital and social media platforms to amplify organizational messaging

- High levels of integrity and empathy in handling professional relationships and team members
