Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Commodities Trader to join our trading and markets team. This role combines strong analytical thinking with market intuition to support trading, risk management, and market analysis across commodity markets and related derivative products.

If you're a fresher from an IIT or an engineering background, and you have a deep interest in markets, macro trends, and data-driven decision making, we'd love to hear from you. We welcome enthusiastic applicants with internship experience, especially those who have explored trading, investing, market analysis, or analytical problem-solving under uncertainty.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Analysis & Trading Support:

- Analyse commodity markets across energy, metals, and related derivatives to identify trading opportunities.

- Monitor global commodity movements, macroeconomic developments, supply-demand dynamics, inventory trends, and geopolitical events impacting commodity prices.

- Assist in executing and monitoring directional, relative value, and hedging strategies across commodity products.

- Track market positioning, volatility, spreads, and cross-asset relationships to support trading decisions.

2. Risk & Performance Monitoring:

- Monitor portfolio exposures, trading risk, and daily P&L across commodity positions.

- Conduct stress testing and sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of market moves on trading strategies.

- Collaborate with risk management and compliance teams to ensure adherence to internal and regulatory risk frameworks.

3. Cross-Team Collaboration:

- Work closely with traders and strategy teams to evaluate market opportunities and improve trading processes.

- Support the development of new trading ideas, market insights, and analytical frameworks.

- Provide analytical and technical support for strategy discussions and desk initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Strong academic background in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.

- Proficiency in Python or other programming languages is a plus.

- Elementary understanding of derivatives and option Greeks is desirable but not necessary.

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience:

- Prior internship or work experience on a trading desk.

- Experience with trading options in Indian markets, particularly commodities.
