About the Opportunity:

My Client is hiring for a leading global project management and construction consultancy engaged in delivering large-scale hyperscale data center developments in India.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will be responsible for end-to-end commissioning of mission-critical systems for one of the largest data center infrastructure programs in the country.

Role Overview :

The Commissioning Manager will lead the planning, coordination, execution, and validation of commissioning activities across electrical, mechanical, and critical infrastructure systems, ensuring operational readiness as per global data center standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commissioning Strategy & Planning

- Develop and implement the Project Commissioning Plan (Cx Plan) and commissioning roadmap.

- Define commissioning methodology across Level 1-Level 5 stages.

- Prepare and manage commissioning schedules aligned with project milestones.

- Establish testing protocols, documentation standards, and quality benchmarks.

2. MEP & Mission-Critical Systems Oversight

Lead commissioning of:

- Electrical systems: UPS, DG, transformers, switchgear, ATS, PDUs

- Mechanical systems: HVAC, chillers, CRAH/CRAC, cooling systems

- Monitoring systems: BMS, EPMS, SCADA

- Fire & life safety systems

- Ensure all systems are validated as per design intent and operational requirements.

- Testing & Validation (L1-L5)

Oversee:

- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)

- Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)

- Functional Performance Testing (FPT - L4)

- Integrated Systems Testing (IST - L5)

- Validate system performance under real-life failure scenarios (power outage, load transfer, redundancy checks).

4. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

- Coordinate with:

- EPC contractors

- OEM vendors

- Design consultants

- Client stakeholders

- Drive commissioning meetings, issue resolution, and alignment across teams.

5. Risk, Quality & Compliance Management

- Identify and mitigate commissioning risks

Ensure adherence to international standards such as:

- ASHRAE

- NFPA

- IEC

- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and documentation.

6. Reporting & Handover

- Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.

- Ensure complete commissioning documentation and smooth handover to operations teams.

- Support operational readiness and post-commissioning validation.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 10-15 years of experience in commissioning of large infrastructure projects

Minimum 4-6 years in:

- Data Centers

- Mission-critical environments (airports, utilities, industrial plants)

Ideal Candidate Profile:

5. Experience in hyperscale projects for global clients (e.g., cloud/data center operators) will be an added advantage.
