Cognizant Technology Services - Investment Research Analyst - Private Equity Research

Primary role requirement & responsibilities:

- Preparation of high quality first drafts of Investment Memorandums evaluating Fund Managers/ Private equity investments, outlining key deal information, fund overviews, industry overviews, investment strategy, track record analysis, investment merits, investment risks & mitigants, case studies etc.

- Prepare executive view Fund Manager/Private company profiles based on Fund Manager provided information and secondary searches.

- Conduct in-depth Industry/ Market target opportunity research based on the investment area of interest.

- Create high quality financial model including attribution and value creation analysis, peer benchmarking, operating metrics benchmarking and valuation models.

- Conduct peer comparable valuation analysis for private companies and fund managers.

- Conduct performance analysis and track record analysis based on cash flows.

- Strong familiarity with private equity terms and Private Placement Memorandums is highly desirable

- Prepare summary performance reports for key clients.

- Maintain and track investment deal flow in Salesforce, Monday.com and other platforms.

- Ad-hoc projects which includes data gathering/analysis, preparation of marketing presentations etc.

Required qualifications:

- Candidates with a MBA/Post-graduate degree in Finance from a reputed institute or CA, CFA (US) only need to apply.

- Must have prior relevant research experience of 1-3 years with reputed Private Equity/ Venture Capital/ Buy Side research firms. The candidates with experience in managing teams and communicating with clients will be preferred.

- Familiar with US market / industry trends and have good knowledge of key revenue/cost drivers.

- Strong attention to detail, research writing skills, and ability to work quickly and accurately under tight timelines.

- Excellent command on spoken and written English

- Proficiency with AI tools such as Enterprise ChatGPT and Claude is highly desirable

- Expert in Excel, knowledge of advanced functions and macros

- High-level competency in Microsoft Word, including formatting, is essential.

- Familiarity with relevant databases/software like Salesforce, Preqin, Pitchbook, Monday.com, Thomson Reuters, Factset etc.

- Flexible approach to workload and demands of the role.
