
Transition Manager
Description:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Transition Manager to lead end-to-end service and process transitions within a BPO environment. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless handovers from clients or internal stakeholders to operations, minimizing business disruption, and aligning transition outcomes with organizational goals.
Core Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and deliver end-to-end transitions in line with business objectives
- Act as the single point of accountability for transition execution
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure smooth service handover
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Provide accurate reporting, documentation, and governance throughout the transition lifecycle
Functional Responsibilities (Key Deliverables):
Transition Planning & Strategy:
- Develop comprehensive transition plans aligned with business goals
- Define scope, timelines, resources, milestones, and success criteria
- Conduct impact assessments and detailed risk analysis
- Establish governance and transition frameworks as per Cogneesol Transition methodology
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners
- Communicate transition objectives, timelines, risks, and dependencies
- Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns proactively
- Ensure alignment across business, operations, and support functions
Change Management:
- Implement structured change management approaches during transitions
- Plan and execute training, communication, and knowledge transfer activities
- Monitor user adoption and manage resistance to change
- Ensure operational readiness post-transition
Project & Delivery Management:
- Oversee transition projects from initiation to stabilization
- Track progress against milestones, timelines, and budgets
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and third-party vendors
- Ensure timely delivery with minimal disruption to ongoing operations
Process & Service Transition:
- Manage smooth handover of services/processes to operational teams
- Document SOPs, SLAs, workflows, and operational requirements
- Conduct testing, pilot runs, and readiness assessments
- Obtain formal sign-offs before transition closure
Risk & Issue Management:
- Identify transition-related risks and define mitigation strategies
- Track issues, dependencies, and escalations through structured logs
- Ensure adherence to compliance, security, and quality standards
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain detailed transition documentation and knowledge repositories
- Provide regular status updates and dashboards to leadership
- Capture lessons learned, best practices, and improvement opportunities
- Support audits and governance reviews as required
Required Skills & Knowledge:
Functional & Domain Skills:
- Strong understanding of BPO transition lifecycle and service delivery models
- Knowledge of process migration, knowledge transfer, and stabilization phases
- Familiarity with SLA management and operational readiness frameworks
Project & Stakeholder Skills:
- Excellent planning, coordination, and multitasking abilities
- Strong stakeholder communication and expectation management
- Proven problem-solving and risk management skills
Tools & Methodologies:
- MS Excel, PowerPoint, and project tracking tools
- Experience with transition governance frameworks and PMO reporting
- Exposure to structured transition methodologies (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP / Prince2 / Six Sigma certification (good to have)
- Experience working in multi-client or global delivery environments
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in a Transition Manager role within a BPO environment
- Hands-on experience in 34 end-to-end transitions
- Independently managed at least 1 transition end to end
Qualification:
- Master's or Bachelors Degree (any discipline)
