Job Profile Summary
As a Cluster Manager, you'll be a key player in driving the growth of our commercial insurance portfolio in the Ahmedabad market.
Your primary focus will be on Group Health Insurance, but you will also be responsible for developing business in other critical commercial lines, including Fire, Engineering, Marine, Liability, and Workmen's Compensation.
You'll lead a team to service all customers and intermediaries, ensuring all business targets are met in line with the company's strategic goals.
This role is crucial for expanding our market presence and building strong relationships within the corporate and broker community.
Note: This role does not involve the sale of individual retail policies like motor or personal health insurance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Business Development & Sales: Consistently achieve and exceed monthly business targets across all assigned commercial lines of business.
- Broker & Intermediary Management: Actively service the existing network of brokers and intermediaries.
- Nurture these relationships to manage renewals effectively and generate new business opportunities.
- Market Penetration: Proactively identify and onboard new brokers and intermediaries to expand our reach and increase market penetration in the Ahmedabad region.
- Client Engagement: Meet with corporate clients to understand their needs, present our insurance solutions, and enhance our brand presence in the market.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure all service level agreements (SLAs) and turnaround times (TATs) set by the distribution team are met.
- This includes coordinating with internal underwriting, claims, and operations teams as required.
- Reporting & Compliance: Maintain and submit accurate reports as per company guidelines, ensuring all sourced business is correctly booked and documented.
- Financial Coordination: Facilitate and coordinate with internal teams for co-insurance and reinsurance payments, ensuring smooth financial operations.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team to achieve their individual and cluster targets, fostering a high-performance culture.
Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree is a must.
- A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is strongly preferred.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of total work experience in the Ahmedabad market within the sales or marketing department of a general insurance company or a key corporate insurance broker.
- Demonstrated experience in handling corporate clients and managing relationships with commercial brokers/intermediaries.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, particularly in the Group Health Insurance or commercial lines segment.
Skills:
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of the commercial insurance landscape and products (especially Group Health, Liability, and Property lines).
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Proficient in using MS Office suite for reporting and presentations
