Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Growth

- Define and execute the business plan for the cluster: targets for AUM, net revenue, new client acquisition, retention, and cross-selling.

- Identify market opportunities, competitive threats, and emerging trends in wealth management / investment products; adapt strategies accordingly.

- Collaborate with product, research, marketing, and operations teams to ensure product offerings and go-to-market strategies align with cluster goals.

Client Ownership & Relationship Management

- Own and manage relationships with high-value clients (HNI / UHNI / Institutional segments).

- Ensure delivery of superior client service, including advisory, portfolio reviews, goal planning, risk profiling, product recommendations, and periodic reporting.

- Act as escalation point for complex client issues and help retain client confidence and satisfaction.

Team Leadership & Development

- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team of RMs / Advisors within the cluster.

- Recruit new talent, train, mentor, and retain personnel.

- Set performance metrics (e.g. acquisition, revenue, client satisfaction), regularly review them, give feedback, and drive improvement.

P&L Ownership & Financial Performance

- Manage the clusters profit & loss (P&L), ensuring cost control, revenue growth, and margin improvement.

- Monitor cluster financials and performance; take proactive corrective actions where required.

- Forecasting and budgeting for the cluster; track variance to plan; ensure KPIs are met.

Product & Advisory Excellence

- Stay updated on all company's investment offerings: mutual funds, PMS, AIFs, alternative investments, structured products, etc.

- Ensure compliance with investment guidelines, risk parameters, and regulatory norms (SEBI, RBI, etc.).

- Oversee portfolio performance monitoring, risk assessment, product suitability, and client disclosures.

Partnering & Collaboration

- Work with internal stakeholders: Research, Product, Marketing, Operations, Compliance, Technology to enable smooth delivery of services and product execution.

- Build external relationships: with IFAs, channel partners, brokers, industry associations, wealth forums to widen reach and strengthen brand presence.

Operations, Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure operational efficiency, set service delivery norms (response times, client onboarding, reporting), and streamline workflows.

- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, internal policies, KYC / AML guidelines.

- Monitor risk exposure across client portfolios; ensure escalations where required.

Reporting & Analytics

- Maintain MIS (Management Information System) to track key metrics: AUM growth, new client acquisition, revenue per client, portfolio performance, client attrition, etc.

- Provide regular reports to senior leadership on cluster performance, challenges, and action plans.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in wealth management, private banking, or investment / advisory services, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership / cluster / region management role (managing teams of RMs / Advisors).

- Proven track record in managing HNI / UHNI client segments, delivering growth in AUM / revenue.

- Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products (mutual funds, equities, alternatives, fixed income, etc.), risk management and regulatory environment in India.

- Excellent leadership skills: team building, coaching, motivation, performance management.

- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking and ability to translate strategy into execution.

- Excellent client relationship & communication skills; ability to maintain high service standards and handle complex client requirements.

- Metrics oriented; good analytical ability; comfortable with numbers, forecasting, budgets, P&L.

- Relevant certifications (preferred): Certified Financial Planner (CFP), NISM certifications, CFA / CA / MBA (Finance / Wealth Management).
