Cluster CFO for Our Energy Solutions client -WFH with Travel
Their is one good job opportunity for Cluster Chief Financial Officer with our Energy Solutions client - Work From Home with Travel .
ROLE PURPOSE:
- The Cluster CFO will serve as principal financial steward and strategic co-pilot to the CEO and Board.
- The role goes well beyond managing the finance function - the Cluster CFO will own capital allocation decisions, lead investor and lender relationships, and architect the company's long-term financial structure as its mini-grid and electricity distribution operations across new geographies.
- This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone equally comfortable presenting to a board and ensuring the month-end close happens on time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Capital:
- Own the funding strategy, including project finance, debt, and equity instruments appropriate to energy asset development.
- Lead financial modelling and risk analysis on asset acquisitions, JV structures, and new market entry decisions.
- Manage relationships with lenders, equity investors, and development finance institutions.
Reporting & Controls:
- Oversee financial reporting, statutory compliance, IFRS adherence, and external audit.
- Design and maintain robust internal controls appropriate to a multi-site operational business.
- Ensure accurate and timely board reporting, including management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and variance analysis.
Tax & Regulatory:
- Oversee tax strategy and compliance across all jurisdictions in which client operates.
- Manage relationships with FIRS, state revenue authorities, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Team & Operations:
- Build and lead the finance team, including the Chief Accountant, FP&A, and treasury functions.
- Drive process improvement and systems maturity as the business scales.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- ACA, fully qualified.
- MBA from a reputable institution is a positive, but strong track record can compensate.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 15 years in finance, with at least 5 in a senior leadership role (CFO, Deputy CFO, or Finance Director).
- Energy sector background strongly preferred - upstream, midstream, downstream, or distributed energy all relevant.
- Demonstrated experience with project finance, FX management, and multi-currency treasury operations.
- Track record managing statutory reporting and tax strategy in the Nigerian regulatory environment.
- Experience engaging boards and investment committees directly.
- Prior involvement in capital raises or asset transactions is a significant advantage.

- Operates effectively at both strategic and operational levels - can shape financing strategy and still drive execution.
- Strong communicator, particularly with non-financial stakeholders including board members, funders, and government counterparts.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and the pace of a growing company in a complex sector.
