Position: Compliance Specialist-L5 (CRPL & NTCPL)

LOCATION: Bangalore, India

Overview:

Role Overview:

At Clicktech, we're looking for an HR Compliance Specialist who thrives on precision, ownership, and navigating complexity at scale. The incumbent will own end-to-end statutory and labor law compliance, translating evolving central and state regulations - including the new Labour Codes and Shops & Establishments Acts - into actionable, standardized HR policies and scalable mechanisms. The role ensures airtight compliance across the entire employee lifecycle, from background verifications and onboarding to payroll deductions, immigration processes, and exit clearances, while delivering a seamless experience for employees and stakeholders.

Through proactive audits, deep dives, and structured risk management, the incumbent will identify process gaps and address potential labor risks before they escalate. Leveraging strong regulatory insight and analytical ability, the role tracks legislative changes, interprets compliance metrics, and works closely with external agencies, payroll teams, and statutory authorities to consistently raise the bar on compliance excellence. The role requires strong ownership, sharp problem-solving skills, and the ability to build trusted partnerships with HR, legal, finance, and business leaders, while maintaining a relentless focus on doing right by our employees and the law.

If you're someone who combines deep regulatory expertise with hands-on execution, loves untangling complex compliance challenges, and is obsessed with building compliant-by-design processes that scale - we'd love to hear from you.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Statutory compliance ownership across states: Drive end-to-end adherence to central and state labor laws - minimum wages, working hours, overtime, leave, statutory deductions (PF/ESI/PT/LWF), and state-specific Shops & Establishments registrations, returns, and renewals - across all Clicktech and NTCPL operating locations.

- Policy and process interpretation authority: Act as the go-to expert for statutory interpretation of HR policies and processes, ensuring all organizational decisions, guidelines, and mechanisms achieve 100% compliance and align with evolving labor law requirements. Provide binding interpretations that inform HR decision-making and protect the organization from compliance risk.

- Complete employee lifecycle compliance management: Own compliance across the full employee lifecycle, including:

- Listing & Onboarding: Ensure compliance with employment registration acts and exchange requirements before and during employee onboarding

- Remittance: Verify timely and accurate remittance of statutory deductions (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, income tax) and maintain audit trails

- Payroll & Tax Documentation: Monitor and ensure timely disbursement of statutory tax documents (Form 16, salary slips, pension statements, ESI statements)

- Overtime & Extra Work: Manage eligibility verification, calculation, and payment of OT and Night Facility Hours (NFH) per statutory requirements and OSH Code provisions

- Disciplinary Actions: Oversee compliance in disciplinary procedures, including domestic enquiries, with full documentation and legal soundness

- Industrial Disputes: Manage HR compliance in industrial dispute matters, liaison with labor departments, and ensure procedurally sound handling

- Employer-Induced Actions: Ensure full compliance in retrenchment, layoffs, and terminations (with/without enquiry), including proper notice, severance, and statutory clearances

- Exit Management: Oversee clean exits, full-and-final settlements, and issuance of all exit-related statutory documentation and clearances

- POSH Compliance: Maintain Prevention of Sexual Harassment policies, complaint mechanisms, and reporting as per statutory requirements

- Law Enforcement Coordination: Act as the point of contact for interactions with labor authorities, inspections, and legal proceedings when required

- Workplace Audits: Ensure compliance with OSH Code workplace standards, including water and sanitation facilities, health checkups, and other prescribed workplace conditions

- Labour Codes transition execution: Execute agreed-upon changes to policies, processes, and payroll configurations in alignment with the Labour Codes roadmap - coordinating with project leads and external advisors (Deloitte) - and actively monitor for future regulatory changes or clarifications that may impact implementation timelines and processes.

- Process gap detection and mechanism building: Identify gaps in existing compliance processes through structured audits and deep dives, design and establish new mechanisms and controls where required, maintain risk registers with remediation timelines, and report against compliance metrics and mechanism effectiveness to leadership with precision and regularity.

- Payroll and vendor governance: Partner with payroll teams and manage external compliance agencies, consultants, and statutory bodies - setting clear SLAs, validating filings and challans, and acting as the escalation point for inspections, notices, and interactions with labor authorities.

- Stakeholder influence and education: Act as a trusted advisor to HR, legal, finance, and operations leaders; run training and awareness programs so managers understand their compliance obligations in their day-to-day decisions; and communicate regulatory changes and policy interpretations in plain, actionable language.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

- Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws, the new Labour Codes, and working knowledge of HR policies and their compliance implications

- Hands-on experience with payroll compliance, statutory deductions (PF/ESI/PT/LWF), and full employee lifecycle compliance

- Proven ability to conduct HR audits, detect process gaps, establish mechanisms, and drive risk mitigation

- Experience handling disciplinary actions, industrial disputes, and employer-induced actions with full compliance rigor

- Strong stakeholder management, analytical, and communication skills

- Bachelor's degree in HR, Commerce, Law, or related field; MBA in HR/Business Management; OR equivalent professional qualification (CA, CMA, HR certifications)

- 8-12 years of relevant HR compliance experience with demonstrated hands-on expertise across the full employee lifecycle.
