Role Description:
- This is a full-time hybrid role based in Chennai, with the flexibility to work partially from home.
- The Assistant Sales Manager will be responsible for managing client relationships, driving sales, identifying market opportunities, and devising effective sales strategies.
- Responsibilities include supporting the sales team in achieving targets, preparing proposals and presentations, coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of projects, and addressing client queries or concerns promptly in Beveraegs Capital Industry.
- The role also involves analyzing market trends, generating leads, and maintaining detailed sales reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Execution:- Assist the Sales Manager in developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand market presence within the beverage industry.
- Business Development:- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and leads through market research, networking, and customer engagement.
- Client Relationship Management:- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, OEMs, and industry partners, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Technical Sales & Negotiation:- Understand complex customer requirements and propose suitable capital equipment solutions, preparing and delivering technical/commercial presentations and proposals.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to close deals effectively.
- Team Support & Leadership:- Support, mentor, and motivate the sales team, coordinating daily sales operations and tracking individual performance to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Market Analysis:- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments in the beverage sector to provide valuable market intelligence to management.
- Internal Coordination:- Collaborate closely with internal teams (engineering, production, service, finance) to ensure seamless order execution, from initial sale to post-sales support and timely payments.
- Reporting & Administration:- Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and proposals to senior management using CRM software and other sales tools.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Food Processing), or a related technical field.
- Experience: 6 - 8 + years of proven sales experience, specifically in capital goods, industrial machinery, or engineering equipment, with at least some experience in a leadership or Sr. Sales role.
- Experienced Beverages or similar field is preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the capital equipment market dynamics, B2B sales cycles, and the specific needs and trends within the beverage industry.
- Communication & Negotiation: Excellent communication, strong negotiation and presentation skills (both written and verbal).
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using sales CRM software (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attributes: Self-driven, target-oriented, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings, trade shows, and business development activities as required.
