cKinetics is looking for a Data Science Associate who is passionate about Sustainability and Carbon Markets and looking for meaningful as well as cutting-edge work.

The candidate would be part of the cCarbon product team of cKinetics, which provides business intelligence and analytics in carbon and clean fuels markets.

The person would be involved in tracking and analyzing some of the rapidly evolving carbon markets in North America.

These include Western Climate Initiative (California+ Quebec), Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), Californias Low Carbon Fuel Standards (LCFS), Washington Cap and Invest, Oregon Clean Fuels Program (CFP), Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS), Canada Clean Fuels Regulations, British Columbia LCFS, Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR), and so on.

Role:

The role envisages the following activities:

- Researching and analyzing economic issues pertaining to carbon markets.

- Analyze a variety of data streams using mathematical models and statistical techniques

- Supporting delivery of reports and analysis.

- Publishing relevant forecast, commentaries and reports synthesizing the key news and developments

- Engage with proponents in US and Canada to keep track of fast-evolving market developments with regulators, industry bodies, clients, etc.

- Supporting and actively participating in product development

About you:

You are looking to take on responsibility and be part of a dynamic environment

You have a methodical and critical mindset for collecting and analysing market data

Strong interpersonal skills to be able to interact and collaborate with professionals from varied cultural backgrounds

You must have:

- Post-graduation in disciplines such as Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering

- 2+ years of experience in climate finance, or environmental commodities, or data/market analytics

- Desire to work in climate policy, energy markets and/or environmental commodity markets

- Excellent English writing skills and the ability to articulate analytical thought in an easily comprehensible manner and to use all insights gathered to build various reports

- Ability to present and discuss their research and findings to a high-level audience and industry experts

- Demonstrated knowledge and use of standard analytical software such Microsoft excel, R, or SPSS
