Civil Project Manager - Infrastructure

Desired Profile:

To oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of the utility's physical infrastructure. Responsible to manage building projects, electrical substations, and grid foundations, ensuring all civil works align with technical specifications from conception to completion, budget constraints, and strict safety standards.

This role demands excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Role Description:

1. Infrastructure & Construction Management:

- Oversee the construction and renovation of electrical substations, control rooms, administrative buildings, and boundary walls.

- Ensure civil structures are designed to safely support electrical equipment (e.g., transformers, switchgear foundations).

- Coordinate site layout, soil investigations, and surveying activities prior to the start of power distribution projects.

2. Project Planning & Execution:

- Develop and track comprehensive project schedules using tools like MS Project or Primavera.

- Prepare and review civil engineering designs for substations, including foundations, control buildings, cable trenches, roads, drainage systems, retaining walls, and fencing.

- Coordinate with electrical team to ensure integrated project execution.

- Develop BOQs material specifications, and cost estimates.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance:

- Enforce strict quality control (QA/QC) procedures for all materials (cement, steel, concrete) and construction activities.

4. Budget & Resource Management:

- Prepare initial cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and monitor expenditures against the approved budget.

5. Stakeholder & Team Coordination:

- Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration between civil foundations and electrical installations.

- Prepare and present Daily/Weekly/Monthly Progress Reports (DPR/WPR/MPR) for senior management.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project scheduling software.
