Civil Head - Projects & Maintenance (10-20 yrs)


Role Overview:


We are seeking an experienced Civil Head to lead the planning, execution, maintenance, and infrastructure development of our client. The role will be responsible for ensuring high-quality civil construction, timely project delivery, campus maintenance standards, vendor management, and compliance across multiple school locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution:

- Lead end-to-end execution of new school construction, campus expansion, renovation, and refurbishment projects.

- Ensure projects are delivered within approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP teams, contractors, and project management agencies.

- Review project drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and execution plans.

- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address execution challenges.

Infrastructure Planning:

- Support the identification and evaluation of new sites for school expansion.

- Participate in due diligence, feasibility studies, and infrastructure assessments.

- Provide technical recommendations on design optimization, cost efficiency, and scalability.

Maintenance & Facilities Management:

- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs across campuses.

- Ensure school infrastructure remains safe, functional, and compliant with applicable regulations.

- Drive improvements in campus aesthetics, safety standards, and operational efficiency.

- Monitor maintenance budgets and optimize lifecycle costs of infrastructure assets.

Vendor & Contractor Management:

- Identify, onboard, and manage contractors, vendors, consultants, and service providers.

- Negotiate contracts, evaluate performance, and ensure adherence to SLAs.

- Monitor quality, safety, and compliance standards across all vendors.

Budgeting & Cost Control:

- Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, and cash flow projections.

- Monitor project expenditures and ensure cost optimization without compromising quality.

- Review contractor bills, certifications, and project financial reports.

Compliance & Safety:

- Ensure compliance with local building regulations, safety norms, statutory approvals, and educational infrastructure requirements.

- Drive adherence to workplace safety standards across all project sites.

- Maintain project documentation and regulatory records.

Stakeholder Management:

- Work closely with school leadership teams, operations, finance, procurement, and external consultants.

- Provide periodic updates on project status, risks, and mitigation plans to senior management.

Candidate Profile:

Education:

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

- Postgraduate qualification in Project Management or Construction Management preferred.

Experience:

- 10-15+ years of experience in civil construction, infrastructure projects, or facilities management.

- Experience managing multi-location projects is essential.

- Prior experience in education infrastructure, commercial real estate, retail, hospitality, healthcare, or large-format institutional projects will be preferred.
