Role Overview:


We are seeking a strategic and analytical Business Finance Manager to partner with category, marketing, supply chain, and product teams to drive business performance through data-driven financial insights. This role is critical in a fast-paced startup environment, where you will act as a financial advisor, enabling high-impact decision-making and driving profitability across verticals.


Key Responsibilities:


Business Partnering & Performance Management


- Act as a finance partner to business teams category, marketing, growth, and supply chain.

- Evaluate business cases for new launches, pricing, campaigns, and partnerships.

- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as gross margins, contribution margins, CAC, ROAS, AOV, and inventory turns.

- Support decision-making through actionable insights and real-time dashboards.


Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting


- Lead the annual budgeting and monthly rolling forecast processes for business units.

- Develop financial models to assess revenue, cost structures, and profitability at product/SKU/channel level.

- Monitor variances vs. budget/forecast and drive accountability across teams.


Revenue & Cost Analysis


- Analyze channel-wise performance D2C website, marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart), quick commerce, etc.

- Track campaign ROI, discount effectiveness, logistics costs, and warehousing impact on margins.

- Recommend ways to improve contribution margin, optimize customer acquisition cost, and control variable costs.


Reporting & MIS


- Prepare weekly and monthly business reviews with dashboards, variance commentary, and insights.

- Collaborate with FP&A and accounting teams to ensure accurate closing and reporting.

- Standardize and automate reporting processes using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.


Strategic Projects & Fundraising Support


- Support fundraising efforts through investor decks, data rooms, and financial modeling.

- Work on strategic projects such as cost restructuring, market expansion, and unit economics improvement.


Qualifications:


- CA / MBA (Finance) from a Tier 1/2 institute preferred

- 5 years of experience in business finance, FP&A, or financial consulting

- Prior experience in startups, e-commerce, D2C, or consumer tech companies preferred


Key Skills & Competencies:


- Strong understanding of e-commerce and D2C metrics (CAC, LTV, GMV, returns, etc.)

- Financial modeling, data analysis, and scenario planning expertise

- Advanced Excel and proficiency with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Google Sheets)

- Business acumen with ability to work cross-functionally and challenge assumptions

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

- Self-starter mindset with ability to work in high-growth, ambiguous environments


Preferred Exposure:


- Marketplace financials (Amazon, Flipkart) and payout structures

- Digital marketing spends and ROI tracking

- Inventory-led or 3PL-driven supply chain models

- Fundraising and investor reporting
