Description:
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead complete ownership of the category, including assortment planning, buying, pricing, and merchandising.
- Conduct detailed sales, margin, inventory, and consumer behavior analysis to guide assortment and pricing decisions.
- Monitor category KPIs such as revenue, gross margin, sell-through, and inventory health, and implement actions to drive growth and profitability.
- Develop annual and quarterly category plans, identifying opportunities, product gaps, and areas for innovation.
- Identify emerging trends and evolving consumer needs to expand and enhance the category assortment.
- Work closely with Product Development, Design, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Retail Operations to execute category strategies.
- Build and manage a strong vendor base that aligns with the companys value retail positioning.
- Drive sourcing strategies focused on cost optimization, improved lead times, and consistent product quality.
- Negotiate effectively with suppliers to achieve margin targets and favorable commercial terms.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to plan category-specific promotions and support merchandising initiatives.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels through strong forecasting and coordination with supply chain teams.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Minimum 10+ years of leadership experience in category management or a similar retail role.
- Mandatory experience working in a value retail format.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret sales, trends, and inventory data.
- Solid strategic planning capability and strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- High ownership mindset, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to drive category growth.
