Team Size: 3 vertical leads + 50-200 indirect reports via their teams

Employment Type: Full-time

Role Purpose:

Own and drive the end-to-end Fleet Business P&L for Chennai. You will lead Driver Sourcing, Driver Performance Management, and Fleet Repair Management teams to ensure supply health, service quality, asset uptime, and sustainable profitability. You are the single-threaded leader accountable for organization growth, performance, and profitability in the city.

Key Teams Youll Lead:

- Driver Sourcing Team: Acquisition, onboarding, verification, and activation of new driver-partners

- Driver Performance Management Team: Training, engagement, compliance, incentives, churn reduction, productivity tracking

- Fleet Repair Management Team: Vehicle maintenance, service TAT, workshop ops, spare parts, asset downtime, cost per km

Core Responsibilities:

P&L Ownership & Business Growth | 40%:

- Own Chennai city P&L for fleet business: Revenue, Gross Margin, EBITDA

- Drive MoM growth in active fleet, trips, and revenue through supply-side initiatives

- Identify and launch new revenue streams: leasing, rentals, EV fleet, B2B tie-ups

- Forecast demand-supply gaps and plan fleet capacity 3-6 months ahead

- Optimize unit economics: cost per acquisition, cost per trip, vehicle utilization, repair cost/km

Driver Supply & Performance | 30%:

- Set and achieve monthly targets for driver onboarding, activation %, and 30-day retention

- Build funnel health: leads verification training first trip 10th trip

- Design incentive structures with Central team to drive peak-hour supply + quality

- Reduce driver churn through engagement, grievance redressal, and loyalty programs

- Ensure 95%+ driver compliance: documents, background checks, training completion

Fleet Operations & Asset Uptime | 20%:

- Achieve >90% fleet uptime through preventive maintenance and fast TAT repairs

- Manage in-house workshops + vendor garages for quality, cost, and SLA adherence

- Control repair & maintenance cost/km through AMC, bulk spares, and audit processes

- Oversee accident management, insurance claims, and vehicle lifecycle decisions

- Drive EV transition and charging infra if applicable to city strategy

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management | 10%:

- Lead, coach, and review 3 team managers + their org of 50-200 employees

- Build city-level OKRs and run weekly ops reviews, MBRs, QBRs with leadership

- Liaise with Central Product, Policy, Finance, Legal, and Marketing teams

- Be the face of the company for driver community , RTO, vendors, and local authorities

- Ensure 100% compliance with labor laws, transport regulations, and safety norms

Experience:

- 7-10 years total with 3+ years in city/regional P&L role

- Must have led blue-collar/gig workforce ops: logistics, mobility, e-commerce, staffing

- Experience managing 3+ cross-functional teams and 50+ people org

- Track record of turning around or scaling city operations

Skills:

- P&L mindset: You think in CAC, LTV, CM1, EBITDA. Excel/Sheets ninja

- Ops rigor: Love SOPs, data, dashboards. SQL/Tableau is a plus

- People leadership: Can hire, fire, motivate field teams

- Hustle: Chennai market knowledge, ability to be on-ground 4 days/week

- Stakeholder mgmt: Negotiate with vendors, govt bodies, internal teams

Education:

- Bachelors degree required; MBA preferred

- Tamil + English fluency mandatory. Hindi is a plus
