Role Summary:
- Cholan Tours Private Limited is seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager - Outbound Sales to lead its international tourism business from the Chennai branch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing outbound markets, managing agent relationships, and curating global travel packages - with the goal of positioning Cholan Tours as one of India's leading outbound travel companies.
- The role requires international travel as needed for business growth and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies and budgets for assigned outbound markets (countries, agents, products, etc.).
- Benchmark competitor offerings and provide ongoing market analysis.
- Design innovative international travel packages in collaboration with the product team.
- Promote outbound products through sales trips, phone calls, emails, and digital marketing.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with global B2B agents and partners.
- Follow up proactively with agents to maximize conversions and business share.
- Coordinate between agents, operations, and product teams for smooth execution.
- Respond to all inquiries professionally and promptly to ensure high agent satisfaction.
- Handle exceptions, complaints, and refund eligibility cases with professionalism.
- Follow up on agent payments in coordination with the accounts team.
- Prepare and submit regular sales reports and market feedback to management.
- Aim to achieve nationwide leadership in outbound travel packages, becoming a top operator in India.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Outbound Sales in the travel and tourism industry.
- Deep knowledge of international destinations, DMCs, tourism norms, and visa procedures.
- Proven ability in designing travel itineraries, packages, and marketing materials.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Willing to travel internationally as required.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Chennai.
Preferred Profile:
- Former Outbound Specialist with leadership experience.
- Track record of driving outbound sales growth at a regional or national level.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for global travel business development.
