Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Power Electronics & EV Battery Systems
Role Summary
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead the companys technology vision, R&D strategy, and product engineering for EV battery systems, power electronics, and energy storage solutions. The role demands a strategic yet hands-on leader capable of driving innovation, developing world-class products, and building a high-performance engineering organization aligned with the companys growth and market objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the long-term technology roadmap for battery systems, BMS, and high-voltage power electronics (inverters, DC-DC converters, onboard chargers) for EV Fast charging solutions.
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary R&D and engineering team across mechanical, electrical, thermal, and software domains.
- Drive innovation from concept through design, prototyping, validation, and production readiness.
- Ensure alignment of product development with customer needs (EV OEMs, fleet operators, infrastructure partners) and global standards.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies in battery chemistry, SiC/GaN power devices, and advanced system architectures.
- Manage R&D budgets, vendor/partner relationships, intellectual property, and technology acquisitions.
- Represent the company in external forums, research partnerships, and investor interactions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Masters or PhD in Electrical, Power Electronics, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (battery specialization preferred).
- 14-20 years of progressive leadership experience in EVs, battery systems, or power electronics domains.
- Proven track record of taking complex energy or mobility technologies from concept to market.
Expertise in:
- Battery design and integration
- BMS architecture and control systems
- Power electronics and high-voltage systems
- Thermal management and safety compliance
- Strong familiarity with global standards
