Job Title: Counter-Drone Systems Technology Specialist (Title will be CTO) Location: Hyderabad (Remote but involves a lot of travel) Experience: 12+ years ( Relevant - 5 yrs) Employment Type: Full-time / Consultant Key Responsibilities: Position Summary: We are seeking a senior technology leader to spearhead the research, design, and delivery of cutting-edge Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS). This role will own the complete technology stack - spanning sensors (radar, RF, EO/IR), electronic warfare subsystems (DF, jammers, spoofers), AI/ML, command & control (C2), and interceptors. The specialist will drive R&D, system integration, and technical excellence, ensuring all solutions align with operational needs, defense standards, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Technology Strategy & Leadership: - Define and implement the technology roadmap (short, mid, long-term) for advanced C-UAS solutions. - Lead multidisciplinary R&D initiatives in radar, RF/EW, EO/IR, AI/ML, sensor fusion, and interceptor systems. - Anticipate and address emerging UAS threats (swarm drones, autonomous systems, GNSS spoofing). System Architecture & Engineering Oversight: - Architect and oversee integration of multi-sensor C-UAS platforms, ensuring interoperability and scalability. - Lead system-of-systems engineering, spanning detection, tracking, identification, classification, and mitigation. - Ensure compliance with military and defense quality standards across all programs. Innovation & Research: - Direct applied research in RF engineering, electronic warfare, AI/ML, optics, and real-time systems. - Establish partnerships with academia, defense labs, and industry leaders. - Build and operate state-of-the-art R&D and test facilities (radars, jammers, UAV test ranges). Team & Program Management: - Lead a high-performing team of engineers, scientists, and program managers. - Oversee program execution, including project planning, timelines, budgets, and technical deliverables (FDS, DDS, SDS, QR compliance). - Mentor senior engineers and develop organizational technical capabilities. Stakeholder Engagement: - Provide technical leadership in customer demos, proposals, and acceptance trials. - Represent the company in field evaluations, defense trials, and regulatory discussions (aviation safety, spectrum management, export controls). - Collaborate closely with business development to support strategic defense engagements. Qualifications: - Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Defense Technologies. Experience: - 12+ years in defense, aerospace, or electronic warfare systems, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. - Proven expertise in C-UAS, radar, RF/EW, or integrated defense platforms. Technical Expertise: - In-depth knowledge of RF direction finding, jammers, spoofers, radars, GNSS systems, and EO/IR payloads. - Strong proficiency in AI/ML, sensor fusion, and real-time systems. - Familiarity with cybersecurity, communication protocols, and C2 architectures. Key Competencies: - Strategic vision combined with hands-on technical leadership. - Strong understanding of complex threat environments (swarm drones, autonomous UAS). - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, especially with defense and regulatory agencies. - Ability to balance innovation with pragmatic program delivery. Location & Travel: - Base: Hyderabad, India. - Travel: Occasional visits to test ranges, defence partners, and customer sites.
