Chief Technology Officer - AI Security & Research

About the Role:

We are looking for a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) - AI Security & Research to lead our technology innovation initiatives with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence security, research, and emerging technologies.

This is a senior CTO / Scientist / Research leadership role within the Technology Innovation Center. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in AI security research with strong technology leadership, innovation, and strategic thinking. You will drive research agendas, identify emerging AI security threats, develop innovative solutions, and shape the organization's long-term AI security strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the AI Security research and innovation agenda across the Technology Innovation Center.

- Define and execute the organization's long-term AI security and technology strategy.

- Lead research into emerging AI security threats, vulnerabilities, and attack methodologies.

- Drive research and development in areas such as LLM security, Generative AI security, adversarial AI, model security, AI red teaming, prompt injection, data poisoning, model manipulation, and AI privacy.

- Develop novel frameworks, methodologies, and technologies to secure AI/ML systems throughout their lifecycle.

- Identify emerging risks associated with Agentic AI, LLMs, foundation models, AI agents, and autonomous systems.

- Establish AI security research programs, technical roadmaps, and innovation priorities.

- Lead the development of proofs of concept, prototypes, research publications, patents, and intellectual property.

- Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, product, and research teams to translate research into practical security solutions.

- Represent the organization at industry conferences, research forums, technology communities, and academic engagements.

- Build relationships with universities, research institutions, technology organizations, and cybersecurity communities.

- Mentor and build a high-caliber team of AI security researchers, scientists, and engineers.

- Provide technical leadership and thought leadership on emerging AI security trends and industry challenges.

- Evaluate emerging technologies and determine their applicability to the organization's security and innovation strategy.

Required Skills & Experience:

- Extensive experience in AI/ML, cybersecurity, AI security research, or a closely related field.

- Strong understanding of AI security threats, attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and defensive techniques.

- Deep knowledge of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, LLMs, and AI architectures.

- Strong research background with demonstrated contributions through research publications, patents, open-source projects, or industry innovations.

- Experience researching or developing solutions for adversarial ML, LLM security, AI red teaming, model security, or related areas.

- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat modeling, vulnerability research, and secure system design.

- Strong programming and prototyping skills in Python and relevant AI/ML frameworks.

- Ability to translate complex research concepts into practical technologies and business outcomes.

- Proven ability to lead highly technical research and innovation teams.

- Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

Leadership & Innovation:

- Define the organization's vision for AI security research and innovation.

- Build a culture of experimentation, scientific rigor, and continuous innovation.

- Identify strategic opportunities created by emerging AI technologies.

- Guide senior leadership on the opportunities and risks associated with AI adoption.

- Drive collaboration between research, engineering, cybersecurity, and business teams.

- Establish partnerships with leading academic institutions, researchers, and technology ecosystems.

Preferred Qualifications:

- PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, or a related field.

- Strong academic or industry research background in AI security or cybersecurity.

- Experience leading technology innovation centers, research labs, or advanced technology teams.

- Strong publication record in reputed conferences or journals.

- Experience with AI security frameworks and standards such as NIST AI RMF, OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, MITRE ATLAS, or equivalent.

- Experience working with cloud AI platforms, foundation models, LLM ecosystems, and AI agent frameworks.

- Prior experience in a CTO, Chief Scientist, Research Director, Distinguished Engineer, Principal Researcher, or equivalent technology leadership role.
