Chief Technical Officer - Telecom

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead the technology and network strategy for the organization, ensuring the design, rollout, and maintenance of a robust and scalable fiber optic infrastructure. The role demands strong expertise in fiber network design (FTTH, FTTx, backbone, and enterprise connectivity), operations efficiency, and adoption of advanced technologies to strengthen the companys position as a leading telecom infrastructure provider.

Role & responsibilities:

- Define and implement the companys end-to-end fiber network strategy (long-haul, metro, and last-mile).

- Ensure network scalability, redundancy, and resilience across all regions.

- Oversee network architecture, route design, capacity planning, and fiber deployment.

- Ensure projects are executed within timelines, budget, and quality parameters

- Ensure full compliance with DoT, TRAI, and other statutory requirements.

- Maintain documentation for RoW (Right of Way), network routes, and technical audits

- Establish systems for proactive network monitoring (NMS/OSS) and fault management.

- Drive operational excellence ensure network uptime >99.9%, SLA compliance, and quick restoration.

Preferred candidate profile:

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.

Experience: 15-25 years in telecom fiber infrastructure with leadership experience in planning, rollout, and network operations.

Proven expertise in FTTx, backbone and metro network design, and optical transmission systems.

Strong background in vendor management, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.

Skills & Competencies:

- Deep technical understanding of optical fiber networks and telecom infrastructure.

- Strategic thinker with strong operational execution.

- Proficiency in tools like GIS, AutoCAD, NMS/OSS, and project management platforms.

- Leadership and stakeholder management skills across large, distributed teams.
