Chief Technical Officer - Steel Manufacturing

Experience: Deputy Plant Head / Plant Head with 15-22 years of experience.

We are partnering with a fast-growing steel manufacturer to hire a highly skilled Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to lead and strengthen all technical operations across SMS, Rolling Mill, Maintenance, Quality, and Process Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end operations of Induction Furnace (SMS) and Hot Rolling Mill

- Drive production efficiency, yield improvement, and cost reduction

- Oversee mechanical & electrical maintenance, preventive & predictive systems, shutdown & spares planning

- Ensure smooth functioning across all plant departments and maintain production stability

- Build strong, disciplined teams with zero internal politics

- Ensure top-tier quality, safety, and statutory compliance

- Drive continuous improvement, RCA, cost optimization & operational excellence

Ideal Candidate:

- Engineering graduate - Mechanical background mandatory

- Strong hands-on experience in SMS operations (Induction Furnace)

- Hot Rolling Mill experience is mandatory

- In-depth understanding of complete steel plant functioning from scrap to finished product (scrap/DRI charging - melting - billet casting - reheating - rolling - finishing)

- 3-5 years experience as Deputy Plant Manager / Plant Manager in a steel plant

- Proven success in improving productivity, reducing downtime & driving process excellence

- Excellent leadership, people management, forecasting & problem-solving ability

- Strong focus on discipline, accountability, and ethical conduct
