
The Chief Technical Officer (Projects) will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of project execution across the organization's 25 million sq ft development portfolio. This is a strategic leadership role requiring expertise in large-scale construction, project management, and operational excellence. The CTO will lead cross-functional teams and report directly to the COO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Projects Execution & Delivery:
- Lead overall project execution strategy and implementation
- Ensure timely delivery of projects within budget and quality parameters
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, and milestone achievement
- Manage project lifecycle from conception to completion
2. Quality Assurance & Control:
- Establish and enforce quality standards across all projects
- Implement quality management systems and protocols
- Conduct regular quality audits and inspections
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards
3. Safety Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations (OSHA equivalent)
- Oversee safety training and awareness programs
- Manage incident reporting and corrective actions
4. Procurement & Supply Chain:
- Lead procurement strategy and vendor management
- Ensure cost optimization and quality of materials and services
- Manage supplier relationships and performance
- Oversee inventory and stores management
5. Contracts & Legal Compliance:
- Manage contracts with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders
- Ensure contract compliance and risk mitigation
- Handle contract negotiations and amendments
- Coordinate with legal team on contractual matters
6. Billing & Financial Control:
- Oversee project billing and revenue recognition
- Manage cost tracking and financial reporting
- Ensure accuracy in financial documentation
- Optimize project profitability
7. Estimation & Budgeting:
- Lead project cost estimation and budgeting
- Manage capital expenditure budgets
- Prepare detailed project budgets and forecasts
- Monitor budget vs. actual performance
8. MEP & Design Coordination:
- Oversee Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design and execution
- Coordinate with design teams and consultants
- Ensure technical feasibility of designs
- Manage design approvals and documentation
9. Strategic Planning & Innovation:
- Develop technical strategies for project optimization
- Identify opportunities for process improvement
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions
- Stay updated with industry trends and technologies
10. Stakeholder Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders
- Provide regular project updates and reporting
- Manage stakeholder expectations
- Lead project reviews and governance meetings
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering (preferred) or equivalent technical degree
- MBA or equivalent management qualification (preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 15-20 years of experience in construction and project management
- Proven experience managing projects of 1-3+ million sq ft scale
- Experience with large, complex development projects
- Previous role as Project Head, Senior Project Manager, or equivalent senior role
Technical Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of construction methodologies and processes
- Expertise in project scheduling, costing, and estimation
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems and coordination
- Familiarity with building codes and regulatory requirements
- Experience with project management software and tools
