Job Description:

Role & Responsibilities:

- Oversee end-to-end technical operations across steel, mining, alumina, and agro processing units.

- Direct daily oversight of 10+ manufacturing units, enforcing plant availability through real-time SCADA systems across TMT, billet, and ATH production lines.

- Champion adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies (AI/ML predictive maintenance, IoT/SCADA, digital twins) to strengthen backward integration from bauxite mining to TMT bar production.

- Develop and execute a 5-year technical roadmap prioritizing automation in billet rolling mills and TMT production, targeting significant capacity uplift.

- Lead capex projects for furnace upgrades and multi-site plant automation, owning technical capex budgeting exceeding 1000 Crore over 3 years.

- Optimize mining-to-mill logistics for bauxite using GPS-tracked fleets and automated crushers to reduce throughput delays.

- Spearhead strategic OEM partnerships for advanced furnace technologies and energy efficiency initiatives.

- Drive R&D for value-added products (high-strength TMT variants) and evaluate digital twins for bauxite yield forecasting.

- Ensure HSE compliance, safety standards, and environmental governance across high-risk mining and manufacturing environments.

- Own opex efficiency, cost controls, and working capital optimization across the technical function.

- Report quarterly variance analysis to leadership on tech budgets and capex ROI.

- Ensure ESG reporting, emissions reduction, and sustainable tech adoption (carbon capture pilots, green steel compliance).

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from a premier institute; MBA or advanced technical certification (PMP, Six Sigma Black Belt) preferred.

- 15-20 years of progressive experience in heavy manufacturing, with at least 10 years in CXO/leadership roles at large industrial conglomerates in steel, mining, or metals.

- Proven track record in Central India operations, ideally with P&L ownership exceeding 2000 Crore in tech-led turnarounds.

- Strong familiarity with backward-integrated value chains (bauxite-to-alumina or iron ore-to-steel).

- Demonstrated expertise in Industry 4.0 tools: AI/ML for predictive maintenance, IoT/SCADA for process control, digital twins for asset simulation.

- Strong capex project management acumen (feasibility through commissioning in multi-plant setups).

- Exceptional leadership ability to rally cross-functional teams in matrixed, unionized environments.

- Analytical rigor with tools like Python/R for operations modeling.

- Strategic vendor and regulatory negotiation experience in India's federal compliance landscape.

- Resilience in high-pressure settings, with hands-on crisis response experience (plant breakdowns, supply disruptions).
