Position Overview:

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will own the entire technology stack of the client including frontend, backend, mobile, platform, infrastructure, and data systems.

While the role is backend-heavy, with strong emphasis on OMS, WMS, inventory, and operational systems, you will also be responsible for frontend architecture, performance, and user experience across the D2C website, internal tools, and consumer-facing platforms.

You will work closely with Founders, Product, Operations, Supply Chain, and Business leaders to ensure technology enables speed, accuracy, scalability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology & Architecture Ownership:

- Own end-to-end technology strategy and architecture across frontend, backend, mobile, and cloud infrastructure.

- Design and scale robust, fault-tolerant systems to support high-volume transactions and rapid business growth.

- Ensure platform reliability, performance, security, and data integrity.

Backend, OMS & WMS Systems:

- Lead the architecture and evolution of Order Management Systems (OMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

- Build and scale systems for inventory management, warehouse operations, manufacturing integration, and fulfillment.

- Integrate marketplaces, D2C platforms, ERP systems, 3PL partners, and last-mile delivery providers.

- Enable real-time visibility into orders, inventory, dispatch, and returns.

Frontend & Experience Ownership:

- Own frontend architecture for D2C website, mobile apps, admin panels, and internal dashboards.

- Ensure seamless integration between frontend experiences and backend systems.

- Drive performance optimization, scalability, and best practices across frontend engineering.

- Partner with Product and Design teams to deliver fast, reliable, and intuitive user experiences.

Engineering Leadership:

- Build, mentor, and scale high-performing frontend, backend, platform, and DevOps teams.

- Establish engineering best practices, architecture standards, code reviews, and release processes.

- Balance speed of execution with long-term scalability and maintainability.

Product, Ops & Business Collaboration:

- Translate business, product, and operational requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Drive automation and technology-led process improvements across operations and supply chain.

- Support rapid experimentation while ensuring system stability.

Governance, Roadmap & Vendors:

- Own the technology roadmap aligned with business growth plans.

- Drive build vs buy decisions for core systems.

- Manage technology budgets, infrastructure costs, and external vendors.

- Ensure compliance with security, data, and regulatory standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- 15 - 18+ years of experience in engineering, with significant time in senior leadership roles.

- Strong hands-on background in backend systems, with proven experience in OMS and/or WMS.

- Experience in e-commerce, D2C, retail, or supply-chain-heavy environments.

- Solid understanding of frontend technologies and architecture (React/Next.js or similar).

- Expertise in backend technologies (Java / Node.js / Python, microservices, APIs).

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), databases, and distributed systems.

- Proven ability to scale systems for high-order-volume, high-growth businesses.
