Job Description:

We are seeking an accomplished Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to lead technology, innovation, research, and product development initiatives for a leading chemical manufacturing organization. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for driving New Product Development (NPD), Process Innovation, Technology Transfer, Commercialization, and Manufacturing Excellence across the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in chemical and intermediate manufacturing, with a strong track record of successfully bringing new products from concept to commercialization while driving operational and technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Strategy & Leadership:

- Define and execute the organization's technology and innovation roadmap aligned with long-term business objectives.

- Lead technical strategy across research, product development, process engineering, and manufacturing technology functions.

- Drive technological competitiveness through innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Partner with executive leadership to identify growth opportunities and future technology investments.

New Product Development (NPD):

- Lead end-to-end New Product Development initiatives from concept, feasibility studies, and laboratory development through scale-up and commercialization.

- Identify emerging market opportunities and develop innovative products to meet evolving customer and industry demands.

- Collaborate with commercial, manufacturing, and business teams to accelerate product development and market introduction.

- Build a robust innovation pipeline to support long-term business growth.

Process Innovation & Optimization:

- Drive process innovation initiatives to improve product quality, production efficiency, yield optimization, and cost competitiveness.

- Evaluate and implement advanced manufacturing technologies and process improvements.

- Lead process intensification and operational excellence programs across manufacturing facilities.

- Develop strategies to improve sustainability, productivity, and process reliability.

Technology Transfer & Commercialization:

- Lead technology transfer activities from R&D to pilot plants and commercial manufacturing facilities.

- Ensure seamless scale-up of laboratory-developed products into full-scale production.

- Oversee process validation, optimization, and commercialization activities.

- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure successful product launches and production readiness.

Manufacturing Excellence:

- Support manufacturing operations by providing technical leadership and process expertise.

- Drive continuous improvement programs focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and cost optimization.

- Ensure manufacturing technologies remain competitive, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical and process challenges.

Research & Innovation Management:

- Establish and strengthen R&D capabilities and innovation frameworks.

- Identify emerging technologies, industry trends, and market opportunities.

- Drive intellectual property development, technology differentiation, and innovation-led growth initiatives.

- Foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence across the organization.

Stakeholder & Leadership Management:

- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams across R&D, process engineering, technology, and manufacturing functions.

- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, technology partners, and regulatory bodies.

- Present technical strategies and innovation initiatives to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.

- Drive cross-functional alignment across business, operations, commercial, and technology teams.

Required Candidate Profile:

- 18-27 years of experience within Chemical Manufacturing, Specialty Chemicals, Fine Chemicals, Agrochemicals, Petrochemicals, or Chemical Intermediates industries.

- Proven experience leading New Product Development (NPD), Process Development, Scale-Up, Commercialization, and Technology Transfer functions.

- Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and industrial-scale production environments.

- Demonstrated success in driving process innovation, operational excellence, and technology transformation initiatives.

- Experience leading large technical, R&D, engineering, or technology organizations.

- Strong business acumen with the ability to align technology strategy with commercial objectives.

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Mandatory Requirements:

- Must be from the Chemicals Industry.

- Must have experience in Chemical Intermediates and Manufacturing environments.

- Strong expertise in New Product Development (NPD).

- Experience in Process Innovation, Scale-Up, Commercialization, and Technology Transfer.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Ph.D., M.Tech, M.Sc., or B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related disciplines.

- Exposure to global markets, advanced manufacturing technologies, and innovation-driven organizations will be preferred.
