Description:
Provide strategic and financial leadership to Z-Tech during its high-growth phase, leveraging deep experience in the building, construction, and EPC sector. The role ensures strong financial governance of complex, capital-intensive projects while driving long-term growth and expansion. This position blends CFO-level financial rigor with CSO-level strategic vision, overseeing both financial stewardship and strategic acceleration.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance & Capital Stewardship (EPC & Construction Focus)
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting across ongoing and upcoming construction, EPC, and infrastructure projects.
- Design and execute capital allocation strategies for large-scale, multi-site developments to maximize returns and optimize project IRR.
- Drive cost optimization, cash-flow management, working capital efficiency, and margin improvement across all operating parks and EPC executions.
- Oversee project cost controls, contract profitability, billing cycles, claims management, and milestone-based revenue recognition.
- Manage investor relations, external reporting, and ensure compliance with regulatory and public-market expectations.
Strategy & Growth
- Partner closely with the Founder/CEO to shape corporate strategy, portfolio prioritization, and phased expansion plans.
- Lead strategic planning cycles, aligning near-term project execution with long-term organizational growth objectives.
- Evaluate inorganic growth opportunities including EPC acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Develop detailed business cases and financial models for new parks, EPC contracts, and expansion projects, with clear ROI, risk, and sensitivity analysis.
Existing Parks & Project Revenue Optimization
- Analyze underperforming assets and construction projects to improve cost efficiency, pricing strategies, and profitability.
- Establish operational and financial dashboards to track project progress, revenues, costs, cash flows, and KPIs across all sites.
- Identify and implement incremental revenue opportunities, contract variations, and value-engineering initiatives without compromising quality or timelines.
Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Establish and maintain enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks specific to construction, EPC, and large-capex environments.
- Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and governance systems appropriate for a listed or pre-listed organization.
- Advise the Board on capital deployment, project risk exposure, and risk-return trade-offs in expansion and EPC investments.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Build and mentor a high-performing Finance & Strategy team with strong project finance and EPC expertise.
- Act as a bridge between founder-led execution teams, project stakeholders, lenders, and institutional investors.
- Provide financial leadership across cross-functional teams including projects, procurement, contracts, and operations.
Requirements / Candidate Profile:
- 15+ years of experience in finance, strategy, or leadership roles within the building, construction, EPC, or infrastructure industry.
- Proven experience handling large-scale, capital-intensive EPC or construction projects, including project finance, cost control, and cash-flow management.
- Strong understanding of contract structures, milestone-based billing, claims, variations, and revenue recognition in EPC environments.
- Prior experience working with listed companies, IPO-ready organizations, or institutional investors is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated capability in strategic planning, financial modelling, and investment evaluation (IRR, NPV, sensitivity analysis).
- Experience in M&A, joint ventures, or strategic partnerships within construction or infrastructure sectors is an advantage.
- Ability to work closely with founders, boards, and senior leadership in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing finance and strategy teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Professional qualifications such as CA, CFA, MBA (Finance/Strategy), or equivalent are preferred.
