Job Summary
The Chief Sales Officer (CSO) will be responsible for driving the companys overall revenue growth, sales strategy, and commercial performance across India and international markets. This role demands a seasoned sales leader with deep experience in large-scale retail operations, omnichannel sales, and international business, capable of managing complex sales organizations and delivering sustained growth. The CSO will play a critical role in shaping customer experience, expanding market presence, and aligning sales operations with the companys long-term strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the overall sales strategy to drive revenue growth across retail, digital, wholesale, and international channels.
- Own end-to-end sales performance and operations for a large-scale retail footprint, including oversight of 400+ stores across multiple geographies.
- Drive omnichannel sales excellence, ensuring seamless integration between physical stores, e-commerce, and digital platforms to enhance customer experience.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, sales productivity, and profitability across all channels.
- Provide strong leadership to regional, national, and international sales teams, fostering a high-performance, customer-centric sales culture.
- Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, partnerships, and expansion strategies in domestic and global markets.
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Technology teams to ensure alignment on demand planning, inventory optimization, and go-to-market strategies.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to adapt sales strategies and maintain market leadership.
- Establish and track key sales metrics, forecasts, and performance dashboards; present insights and recommendations to the executive leadership and board.
- Play a key role in shaping pricing, promotions, channel mix, and customer engagement strategies to maximize revenue and lifetime value.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1720+ years of progressive experience in sales leadership roles, with significant exposure to international sales and operations.
- Extensive experience in the retail industry, with a proven ability to lead and scale large omnichannel businesses.
- Demonstrated success managing large retail networks (400+ stores) and complex, multi-region sales operations.
- Strong track record of driving revenue growth and operational efficiency in the Indian market, with exposure to global markets.
- Deep understanding of global market dynamics, including regional customer behavior, regulatory considerations, and competitive landscapes.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, and inventory planning, and their impact on sales performance.
- Proven ability to build, mentor, and retain high-performing senior sales leadership teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities, able to translate vision into measurable outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging at Board and C-suite levels.
