Job Title: Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Agri Commodities

Role Overview :

We are looking for a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) with deep expertise in the agri commodities and warehousing ecosystem. The role requires a strong intuitive risk appetite, hands-on understanding of commodity behavior, storage risks, and supply chain dynamics, along with the ability to drive risk, compliance, and audit functions at an enterprise level.

This is a specialist role - we are looking strictly for candidates from the agri/commodity/warehousing ecosystem. Generalist profiles will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Spearhead Risk, Compliance & Audit

i. Lead the risk, compliance, and audit functions of the organization

ii. Design and drive the risk matrix, frameworks, and policies aligned to business operations

2. Board-Level Risk Oversight

i. Report to the Board on the overall risk profile of the organization

ii. Recommend and drive risk mitigation strategies across functions

3. Audit Leadership

i. Provide administrative and functional leadership to the internal audit function

ii. Ensure robust controls, governance, and audit effectiveness

4. Compliance & Governance

i. Act as Head of Compliance, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations

ii. Lead investigations in disciplinary and compliance-related matters

5. Trade Finance Risk Oversight

i. Hold final approval authority for trade finance cases, ensuring risk-aligned decisions

ii. Evaluate exposures in line with commodity, counterparty, and operational risks

6. Risk Policy & Product Advisory

i. Contribute to risk policy development and product structuring

ii. Provide expert views on proposals, especially linked to agri commodities and warehousing-backed structures

Candidate Profile :

- 10+ years of experience in agri commodities, warehousing, or agri supply chain risk

- Deep understanding of commodity markets, storage risks, and operational realities

- Strong intuitive and analytical risk assessment capability

- Proven experience in risk, compliance, and audit leadership roles

- Background in agri-finance, commodity trading, warehousing, or allied sectors preferred

Education :

- B.Sc. (Agriculture) preferred

- MBA (Finance / Agri Business / Risk) preferred
