Chief Risk Officer

Job Description:

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead the risk management function for our Payments business. The CRO will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across all payment products and services, including regulatory, operational, fraud, credit, and technology risks. This role plays a critical part in ensuring secure, compliant, and resilient payments infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement the enterprise-wide risk management framework for payments products.

- Identify and monitor key risks including fraud, transaction failures, AML/CFT, data breaches, and regulatory compliance.

- Oversee risk assessments for new payment product launches and changes to existing services.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, RBI, GDPR, PSD2).Collaborate with Product, Technology, Legal, and Compliance teams to integrate risk controls into product design and operations.

- Lead the incident response and root cause analysis for payment-related risk events.

- Present risk insights and reports to senior leadership and the Board Risk Committee.

Requirements:

- 15+ years of experience in risk management, with at least 5-7 years in payments or financial services.

- Deep understanding of digital payments ecosystems, fintech platforms, and regulatory landscapes.

- Strong knowledge of operational, credit, fraud, and cybersecurity risks in payments.

- Proven ability to design and implement risk frameworks and controls.
