
JD - CPO Chief Production Officer
Qualification - BE Electrical / BE Production / BE Industrial Engineering
Experience - 20 years + (Atleast 7-8 years as Production Head or Plant Head)
Reporting To - MD / CEO
Role Summary:
- The Chief Production Officer (CPO) will lead the entire production value chain, from raw material conversion through final product assembly and quality control.
- The CPO is responsible for ensuring that all manufactured goods meet the highest standards of quality, are produced efficiently, and adhere to scheduled timelines to support the company's project delivery or sales goals.
- This role requires optimizing production facilities, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and maintaining an excellent safety record.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive production schedules, capacity planning, and resource forecasts to meet demanding project deadlines and sales targets.
- Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to continuously improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, increase throughput, and lower unit production costs.
- Evaluate, recommend, and oversee the integration of new manufacturing technologies, automation systems, and machinery to enhance production capabilities and product quality.
- Ensure all production facilities, plant machinery, and equipment are maintained in optimal working condition to prevent downtime and ensure operational continuity.
- Quality Management and Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) standards across all stages of production, ensuring all components meet industry specifications (e.g., ISO, BIS, and specific project standards).
- Ensure the production facility operates in strict compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, as well as statutory manufacturing guidelines.
- Work closely with the Supply Chain function to ensure the timely availability of high-quality raw materials and components needed for production.
- Cost Control: Monitor and analyze production metrics and costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains to improve the gross margin of manufactured goods.
- Budgeting: Develop, justify, and manage the annual operational and capital expenditure budgets for the entire production division.
- Inventory Control: management of raw materials, Work-In-Progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory to align with production needs and optimize working capital.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the plant managers, production supervisors, and process engineering teams, nurturing a culture focused on safety, quality, and performance.
