Role Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) with at least 15-20 years of progressive experience to lead our client's procurement function based in Bangalore. The CPO will collaborate extensively with executive leadership, finance, operations, and various business units to ensure procurement aligns with organizational goals, drives significant cost efficiencies, mitigates supply chain risks, and fosters strong vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive, long-term procurement strategy aligned with the client's strategic objectives, ensuring optimal value delivery and supply chain resilience.

- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across all categories, identifying opportunities for consolidation, innovation, and competitive advantage through robust market analysis and supplier intelligence.

- Direct and oversee all high-stakes negotiations for critical contracts, ensuring favorable terms, mitigating risks, and securing best-in-class pricing and service levels.

- Establish and nurture robust vendor management programs, fostering strategic partnerships, evaluating supplier performance, and driving continuous improvement across the supply base.

- Implement advanced cost management methodologies, including total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, to achieve significant cost reductions and optimize spend across the organization.

- Champion the use of spend analysis tools and data-driven insights to identify trends, forecast demands, and inform strategic procurement decisions.

- Drive the effective utilization and optimization of SAP procurement modules to enhance process efficiency, data accuracy, and reporting capabilities.

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous professional development.

- Establish robust risk management frameworks within the supply chain, proactively identifying and mitigating potential disruptions, compliance issues, and ethical concerns.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, legal, operations, and business units to integrate procurement best practices and support overall business objectives.

Required Skillset:

- Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, and implement enterprise-wide procurement strategies that deliver measurable business impact.

- Exceptional expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and complex contract negotiation across diverse spend categories.

- Demonstrated leadership in building and managing high-performing procurement teams, fostering talent, and driving organizational change.

- Strong analytical acumen, with a track record of leveraging spend analysis and market intelligence to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize supplier performance.

- Deep functional knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP procurement modules (e.g., MM, SRM) for process automation and data management.

- Superior communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging effectively with executive leadership, internal business partners, and external vendors.

- A strategic mindset coupled with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring both long-term vision and operational excellence.

- Degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant advanced degree is highly preferred.
