Work Location : Guindy, Chennai.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the strategic transformation from PMC services to integrated EPC delivery model, establishing new business lines and capabilities in Infrastructure and Data Centre sectors
- Oversee and manage day-to-day operations across all departments, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives
- Coordinate with the executive team to implement business strategies and drive operational efficiency across all departments
- Manage client expectations and maintain strong relationships with Europe and Australia-based clients
- Leverage communication and public relations expertise to enhance company positioning and market presence
- Examine, re-engineer, and optimize existing operations and procedures; formulate policies and develop/implement new strategies to drive operational efficiency
- Establish operational rhythm including planning systems, dashboards, performance reviews, and decision-making frameworks across project, engineering, and administrative teams
- Implement project management best practices, tools, and performance metrics to improve delivery timelines, minimize risk, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Develop and execute comprehensive operational strategies that align with the company's growth objectives and position company's Indian operations at the forefront of the industry
- Create and implement annual operating plans supporting the Board's strategic direction, correlating with operating budgets for short, medium, and long-term horizons
- Lead business development initiatives leveraging existing networks within EPC firms, particularly in Infrastructure and Data Centre domains
- Build and nurture teams spanning engineering, operations, procurement, and construction support functions
- Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation
Financial & Commercial Management
- Full P&L ownership and accountability for operational performance
- Financial planning, budgeting, and resource management; analyze and interpret financial data to drive decision-making
- Manage contracting, negotiating, and change management processes with clients and partners
- Optimize resource allocation and operational costs while scaling the organization
EPC Capability Development
- Architect and build integrated EPC capabilities from ground up, establishing procurement, construction management, and turnkey delivery functions
- Develop strategic partnerships with EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, and construction partners, particularly for Infrastructure and Data Centre projects
- Establish risk management frameworks and quality assurance systems aligned with EPC delivery requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Project Management, or Manufacturing
- MBA or equivalent advanced management qualification preferred
Experience
- Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors, with at least 8-10 years in senior leadership roles (COO, VP Operations, Business Unit Head, or equivalent)
Mandatory:
- Proven experience working in or with EPC firms, particularly on Infrastructure and/or Data Centre projects
- Demonstrated track record in medium to large-sized structural steel construction or engineering design environments
- Experience managing teams of 300+ professionals across multiple geographies and disciplines
- Strong background in PMC to EPC transformation or business model transitions
- International client management experience, preferably with European and Australian market
