Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the company's business operations, project execution, and strategic growth initiatives. Reporting directly to the Founder, the COO will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, improving profitability, strengthening cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring timely delivery of solar EPC projects while supporting the organization's long-term expansion plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end business operations across Engineering, Procurement, Project Execution, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Quality, Commercial, and Customer Success.
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with the company's business objectives and growth plans.
- Ensure successful execution of utility-scale and C&I solar projects within defined timelines, quality standards, and budget.
- Monitor project profitability, optimize resource utilization, and improve operational efficiencies.
- Establish KPIs, MIS reports, and performance dashboards to track organizational performance.
- Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across all business functions.
- Build strong coordination between Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Project teams.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Manage vendor relationships, subcontractors, and strategic partners to ensure quality and cost optimization.
- Strengthen compliance with statutory, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Mentor and develop leadership teams while building a high-performance organizational culture.
- Support the Founder in strategic planning, expansion initiatives, fundraising discussions, partnerships, and new business opportunities.
Key Deliverables (KRAs):
- On-time completion of EPC projects.
- Improvement in EBITDA and project profitability.
- Reduction in project execution delays and cost overruns.
- Enhanced customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Strong operational governance and process compliance.
- Scalable systems and organizational structure to support future growth.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil); MBA preferred.
- 3-5 years of overall experience.
- Proven experience in Solar EPC, Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, Power, or EPC businesses.
- Strong understanding of project management, procurement, commercial operations, contracts, and financial management.
- Demonstrated ability to scale organizations and lead large cross-functional teams.
- Strong business acumen with expertise in budgeting, P&L management, and operational excellence.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- High level of strategic thinking combined with strong execution capabilities.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience managing large-scale solar EPC projects across multiple states.
- Exposure to Utility Scale, Open Access, Captive, and C&I Solar Projects.
- Knowledge of statutory regulations, electrical safety standards, and renewable energy policies.
- Experience in driving digital transformation, ERP implementation, and MIS-driven operations.
