
Role Summary:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for overseeing the overall operational excellence of the institution, ensuring efficient administration, regulatory compliance, and seamless coordination across academic and non-academic functions. The role requires a strategic leader who can drive institutional growth, optimize processes, and enhance student and stakeholder experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the school/university including administration, facilities, IT, admissions, and support services
- Ensure smooth functioning of academic and non-academic departments
2. Strategic Planning & Execution
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement institutional strategies
- Drive growth initiatives, expansion plans, and operational scalability
3. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to regulatory bodies such as UGC, AICTE, CBSE, and NAAC
- Maintain institutional policies, audits, and quality standards
4. Financial & Resource Management
- Oversee budgeting, cost optimization, and financial planning in coordination with finance teams
- Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of resources
5. Admissions & Student Services
- Supervise admissions strategy, enrollment targets, and student lifecycle management
- Enhance student experience and retention initiatives
6. Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (faculty, staff, management) and external stakeholders (parents, regulatory bodies, industry partners)
- Build strategic partnerships and collaborations
7. Infrastructure & Facilities Management
- Oversee campus operations, infrastructure development, and maintenance
- Ensure safety, security, and compliance standards
8. Process Optimization & Digital Transformation
- Implement systems, ERP solutions, and technology-driven processes
- Drive efficiency through automation and best practices
Key Requirements:
- Master's degree (MBA / Education Management / relevant field); PhD preferred for university roles
- 15-25 years of experience in operations/administration, preferably in education sector
- Strong understanding of academic ecosystems (school + higher education preferred)
- Proven leadership, strategic thinking, and execution capabilities
- Experience handling compliance, accreditations, and large teams
