Role Overview:

The COO will provide overall operational and techno-commercial oversight of the company's ropeway infrastructure business. The role will focus on ensuring effective project execution, commercial protection, stakeholder management, resolution of critical issues, and successful transition of completed projects into efficient and revenue-generating assets.

The COO will oversee project progress rather than be directly responsible for project development or origination. The COO will be expected to ensure that projects are executed effectively, commercially protected, successfully commissioned and, post-completion, operated as sustainable and profitable revenue-generating assets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project & Operations Oversight:

- Monitor progress of ongoing ropeway projects against schedule, cost, quality, safety and contractual commitments.

- Review project performance and drive timely resolution of critical execution bottlenecks.

- Coordinate across Projects, Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Operations and other functions.

- Ensure smooth commissioning, handover and transition of completed projects into operations.

2. Techno-Commercial & Contracts:

- Provide senior-level oversight of project commercials, contracts, margins and financial performance.

- Drive resolution of variations, claims, counterclaims, extensions of time, escalation and contractual disputes.

- Work closely with Finance and Commercial teams on billing, collections, receivables and cash flows.

3. Government & Regulatory Interface:

- Manage senior-level engagement with Central/State Government departments, project authorities, tourism bodies, statutory agencies and other stakeholders.

- Drive resolution of critical approvals, regulatory matters and project-related impediments.

- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with key government and institutional stakeholders.

4. Litigation & Dispute Management:

- Oversee claims, arbitration, litigation and contractual disputes in coordination with internal legal teams and external counsel.

- Ensure appropriate documentation, timely escalation and effective resolution of legal and commercial exposures.

5. Post-Completion Revenue & Asset Performance:

- Take ownership of the commercial performance of completed ropeway assets.

- Drive passenger volumes, utilisation, ticket revenue and permissible ancillary revenues.

- Identify opportunities across advertising, retail, F&B, parking, sponsorships, tourism offerings and concessions, where applicable.

- Monitor asset uptime, operating costs, service quality and profitability.

Candidate Profile:

- B.E./B.Tech from a premier engineering institution such as BITS Pilani, IITs or equivalent.

- MBA/PGDM from a reputed institution.

- 15 - 20 years of experience in infrastructure, EPC, transportation, mobility, heavy engineering or related sectors.

- Strong experience in techno-commercial management, contracts, claims and project oversight.

- Proven experience dealing with Government/public-sector stakeholders and regulatory authorities.

- Experience in commercialisation and operations of completed infrastructure assets is highly desirable.
