Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Operations, Technology & Credit
Position Overview:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) Operations, Technology & Credit is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the development, implementation, and optimization of business operations across the organization.
This includes end-to-end oversight of operational workflows, credit processes, technology infrastructure, and the alignment of these functions with the company's strategic goals. The COO will work closely with cross-functional leaders to ensure operational excellence, scalable growth, and exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to set and execute the company's strategic vision.
- Lead company-wide initiatives to improve operational efficiency, automation, and scalability.
- Establish KPIs, OKRs, and operational benchmarks aligned with business goals.
Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring streamlined and cost-effective business processes.
- Lead customer service, back-office, onboarding, and process improvement teams.
- Implement risk management and compliance processes to meet regulatory and legal standards.
Technology & Digital Infrastructure:
- Drive technology strategy and innovation to support current operations and future growth.
- Oversee IT systems, digital product development, software architecture, and cybersecurity.
- Work with CTO/tech leads to evaluate and implement emerging technologies (AI, automation, cloud, APIs).
Credit & Risk Management:
- Develop and refine credit policies, underwriting processes, and portfolio management strategies.
- Ensure robust credit risk assessment, scoring models, and collections processes.
- Monitor credit performance and align with data analytics to guide decision-making.
Team Leadership & Culture:
- Build and lead high-performing teams across operations, technology, and credit departments.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor departmental heads and drive leadership development within teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in operational leadership roles, preferably in financial services, fintech, or tech-driven industries.
- Proven experience managing technology operations and credit functions at scale.
- Strong understanding of digital transformation, data analytics, and automation technologies.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks in banking, lending, or financial services.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
