Keeping this in the background there is a strong focus on ensuring that adequate systems, processes and controls are in place to help support this expansion.   The organisation is keen to bring on-board a Chief Operating Officer (COO) who can support and complement the Chief Executive Officer, towards meaningfully advancing the mission of the organisation, building institutional credibility and strengthening programme delivery as well as support fundraising efforts when required.  Roles and responsibilities :   - Identify key activities and priorities in line with the Vision 2020 action plan and the organisation's mission and values. This would include organisation restructuring exercise and scale up of programmes to achieve the objectives set out.   - Design, implement and communicate strategy for operational management and programme development to meet agreed organisational performance plans within budgets and timelines.   - Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development in order to monitor and measure.  - Report on operational issues, opportunities, development plans, achievements, challenges and budgets to the CEO.   - Implement and lead a continuous quality improvement process throughout programme areas, focusing on systems and process improvement based on analysis of data generated from all departments of the organisation.   - Lead a high performing field team by providing support from the head office and by further developing, implementing and streamlining operational policies consistent with their feedback.  - Travel to state offices /territory offices and review performance and operations within the particular state.  - Set and manage performance targets of programme teams, ensuring staffing level are met and professional management standards are adhered to while maintaining working knowledge of the organisation's policies and regulations.   - Promote regular and on-going opportunities for all staff to give feedback on programme operations and manages employee communication in conjunction with the CEO and Country Head Human Resources.   - Manage the programme and operation aspects of the annual budget in conjunction with the Country Head Finance and the CEO.   - Ensure that all department heads including regional teams are meeting programme and fundraising targets and that costs are tracked regularly and under control as per budget.  - S/He will attend all Board Meetings and Meetings of Committees of the Board along with the CEO. Here, the COO would present the ATBT (Action To Be Taken) list and the ATR (Action Taken Report) and will do all that is necessary to ensure that the ATBT list is comprehensively implemented  Must Have :  - An MBA or a Post Graduate in development or a similar advanced degree from a reputed management institute.  - Minimum 15+ years of relevant progressive leadership experience of which at least 3 have been in a significant supervisory position in a growth-oriented organisation, preferably in not for profit sector.   - Demonstrated skills in leading diverse work teams and implementing organisation-wide operational and managerial processes across a broad geography.   - Broad knowledge and experience in policy development and implementation, project management, organisation development, and people management in a large-scale organisation.   - Outstanding interpersonal skills, including above average oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organisation and with staff at remote locations.  Preferable:   - Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with the Board of Directors   - Past experience in programme management with fundraising or business development  - Ongoing affiliations with leaders in successful companies and organisations that practice effective operations management.   - Familiarity with change management.
