Chief Operating Officer (COO)

We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead a prominent family-run business within the Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences sector.

Based in Kerala or Tamil Nadu, the COO will be instrumental in driving the company's strategic vision, ensuring robust financial performance, and optimizing operations across all key functions.

This role demands a seasoned leader with extensive experience in the manufacturing sector and a proven track record of P&L responsibility, ideally within a B2B context.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Leadership: Lead the company's vision, mission, and strategic goals, developing and executing long-term plans that ensure sustainable growth and operational excellence.

- Financial Performance (P&L): Assume full responsibility for the Profit & Loss (P&L) of the organization, driving financial performance, optimizing costs, and maximizing profitability.

- Functional Oversight: Provide strong leadership and oversight across all critical business functions, including Product Development, Sales, Operations, and Compliance, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with strategic objectives.

- Revenue & Brand Maximization: Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue growth while significantly enhancing brand visibility and market presence.

- Operational Streamlining: Drive the streamlining of operations, systems, and policies across the organization to enhance efficiency, productivity, and scalability.

- Process Optimization: Identify and implement best practices in manufacturing and business processes to ensure high-quality product delivery, cost-effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

- Team Leadership & Culture: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing executive and operational team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the organization.

- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with the family owners, Board of Directors, employees, customers, and partners to ensure alignment and achieve business objectives.

- Compliance & Governance: Ensure the company operates in full compliance with all relevant industry regulations, legal requirements, and corporate governance standards, particularly within the Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences domain.

Required Candidate Profile:

- Experience: 18+ years of extensive experience in the manufacturing sector, with at least 10+ years in senior leadership roles holding direct P&L responsibility.

- Industry Expertise: Proven leadership experience specifically within the Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences industry is essential.

- Business Acumen: Demonstrated experience in B2B (Business-to-Business) sector companies is highly desirable.

- Operational Excellence: Strong track record of streamlining operations, optimizing systems, and developing effective policies.

- Leadership Qualities: Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

- Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and inspiring at all levels.

- Financial Acumen: Strong financial literacy and ability to interpret complex financial data to drive business decisions.

- Location: Willingness to relocate to or based in Kerala / Tamil Nadu
