About the client:
Our client is a privately-owned infrastructure company known for delivering large-scale projects in HAM, Railways, Housing, Roads, and Irrigation. The company is headquartered in Pune and has completed 350+ project and has built 1250+ km's of Road and Railway network.
Position overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to take charge of ongoing infrastructure operations for multiple projects and the role is based out of Pune. The COO will lead project delivery, execution strategy, and operational performance across multiple verticals, ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the execution of infrastructure projects (HAM, Railways, Roads, Housing, Irrigation) from planning to completion.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality and safety standards.
- Drive operational efficiency across construction sites, engineering, procurement, and logistics.
- Set project execution strategy and align cross-functional teams for smooth project lifecycle management.
- Monitor KPIs, manage risks, and troubleshoot operational bottlenecks.
- Coordinate with government authorities, clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Develop SOPs, cost-control mechanisms, and real-time project monitoring tools.
- Provide strategic input to the Board on project viability, expansion, and innovation.
- Build, lead, and mentor multidisciplinary project and operations teams across locations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical Engineering (MBA or PMP preferred).
- Minimum 15 years of experience in infrastructure project execution, with a proven track record in HAM, Railways, Housing, Roads, or Irrigation.
- Must have led large-scale EPC or PPP projects from ground-breaking to commissioning.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of government project protocols and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage multiple high-value projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
