Our client is an Indian Transnational Engineering company based at Pune, seeking Chief Operating Officer. The incumbent must have Engineering degree with a PG qualification. Below are the details:
Role: Candidate will be accountable for end-to-end delivery of P&L targets including operational, production, quality, OTDIF, profitability and cost optimization also driving safety, compliance, continuous improvement, and new product operationalization
- Implement various strategies for Factory of the Future and execute the FOF plan including introduction of Automation for Manufacturing processes and Optimisation
Responsibilities:
- Develops the operational & technology strategy taking inputs from all the Business Units and CTO
- Responsible to make sure that the operational strategy serves the business strategy
- Lead strategic insight and overview of business case justifications and ROI analysis for Capex spending and initiatives
- Monitors Business Unit performance parameters such as lead time, FTR, OTDIF etc. and takes corrective action for course correction in case of deviations
- Propose action plans to resolve the high-level escalations/problems raised from the Business Units and monitor the adherence to the same by the concerned departments
- Monitor and track the safety metrics of the company and drive implantation of safety standards across the BUs
- Provide expertise in manufacturing process optimization, such as assembly line design, quality checks & processes design, inventory management etc.
- Contribute to development and drive implementation of operational excellence and standardization across different BUs
- Ensure efficiency in process / operations across the business units
- Ensure total quality management through uniform processes and procedures
- Drives implementation of large-scale changes for process improvements through Continuous Improvement Head and guide the organization on effective implementation of tools such as Kaizen, 6S, 7QC, 6 Sigma, Kanban
- Drive implementation of various manufacturing process compliances
- Checks viability & fitment of all new product ideas at high level from key stakeholder perspective
- Assess the feasibility of the customer requirements and provide guidance to achieve the desired quality. Implement changes in the product to achieve the next version of machines.
- Supervise project execution & related activities for various projects managed by project management office.
- Take overall responsibility for people development initiatives and building up in-house capabilities for the employees in the department
- Drive a performance driven culture in the team by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members
- Contribute towards development of talent for the department by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities to enable readiness for higher roles
- Actively participate in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation
