Job Description
We are seeking a high-drive, technically expert Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead our company's daily operations. As the second-in-command reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for translating our strategic vision into operational excellence across all project sites and business functions. This role requires a powerhouse leader with 20+ years of construction experience who can command respect in the field and the boardroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Direct daily operations across multiple large-scale construction projects, ensuring all are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Strategic Execution: Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement long-term growth strategies, scalable processes, and innovative technologies.
- Financial & Risk Oversight: Monitor project budgets, control operational costs, and manage contractual risks to protect company margins and cash flow.
- Workforce & Contractor Management: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of project managers and department heads, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce rigorous health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) protocols across all job sites to ensure 100% regulatory compliance.
- Stakeholder Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for key clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure strong, lasting business partnerships.
- Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in the construction or infrastructure industry, with at least 10 years in a senior executive leadership role.
- Technical Expertise: Deep mastery of construction delivery methods, project management methodologies, and technical procurement.
- Leadership Drive: A proven "owner" mindset with the relentless drive to push projects forward, solve complex problems under pressure, and motivate diverse teams.
- Financial Acumen: Strong ability to interpret complex financial data, manage P&L, and optimize resource allocation.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field; an MBA or advanced business degree is highly preferred.
