Location : Person will be based at Uganda/Kenya and has to take care of several countries in Africa region

About the Role :

- We are hiring a highly accomplished and strategic leader for the position of COO and equalant to Deputy Managing Director based in Uganda. This is a critical leadership role within the organization and will report directly to the Founder of the company.

- The role will be responsible for driving overall business operations, operational excellence, and organizational performance across large-scale operations. All functional heads will report into this position, making it one of the most senior and influential roles in the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and oversee end-to-end business operations across multiple functions and locations

- Drive operational efficiency, business growth, profitability, and organizational performance

- Provide strategic direction to all functional heads and leadership teams

- Build and manage high-performing cross-functional teams in a performance-oriented culture

- Ensure operational excellence across supply chain, production, administration, commercial, and support functions

- Develop and execute long-term operational and business strategies aligned with company objectives

- Monitor operational KPIs, financial performance, compliance, governance, and risk management

- Support expansion, transformation, and process optimization initiatives

- Work closely with the Founder and senior leadership on strategic decision-making and business planning

- Strengthen organizational capability, leadership development, and succession planning

Candidate Profile :

- Minimum 18+ years of leadership experience in large-scale business operations

- Strong exposure to managing complex and high-volume operations

- Prior experience handling large cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders

- Experience working within high-performance and growth-oriented business environments

- Agri business/agri-operations exposure will be highly preferred

- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing operational P&L responsibilities

- Proven ability to drive transformation, scalability, and operational discipline

- International or multi-country leadership exposure preferred

- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and execution capabilities
