Role overview

AMK Global Group is hiring a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead execution and build an operating system that enables the business to scale with minimal day-to-day dependency on the CEO. The COO will drive cross-functional performance, establish governance, and deliver measurable outcomes.


Reporting & work requirements

Reports to: CEO

Location: India (as per business requirement) Remote


Working hours: Primary overlap with Canadian business hours is required


Key responsibilities

- Build and run the company's operating system: SOPs, KPIs, dashboards, operating cadence and performance reviews.

- Drive execution across functions and ensure priorities are delivered on time, within budget and with quality.


- Establish decision rights, delegation matrix, escalation protocols and internal governance.


- Create accountability mechanisms: role clarity, performance tracking, corrective actions and follow-through.


- Improve operational efficiency: cost control, productivity improvement, cycle time reduction and output quality.


- Strengthen compliance: internal controls, process adherence, audit readiness and risk management.


- Partner with HR on organisational structure, hiring plans, capability building and performance management.


- Lead the preparation of internal and external reports (Board meetings, quarterly reviews) regarding operational effectiveness.


- Ensure management information systems are accurate, timely and decision-ready for CEO and leadership.


Must-have eligibility (non-negotiable)

- IIM graduate (mandatory).

- Must have either: (a) built and led a business as Founder/Co-founder/Owner to approximately INR 100 Cr+ revenue scale (or equivalent), or (b) worked as a senior leader/operator closely with a CEO and materially contributed to scaling a business to INR 100 Cr+ revenue (or equivalent).


- Demonstrated capability in building SOPs, operating cadence, governance and measurable execution systems.


- Ability and willingness to work with primary overlap to Canadian business hours and coordinate with international stakeholders.


Preferred qualifications

- Prior experience running multi-function operations (not only one department).

- Exposure to multi-entity/group-company operations is a plus.


- Strong track record of people leadership and performance management.


What success looks like (first 6 months)

- Weekly leadership cadence and KPI dashboard operational and adopted.

- SOP compliance improves with clear ownership and visible measurement.


- Decision cycles become faster; escalations to CEO reduce significantly.


- Consistent performance management and delivery discipline across teams.
