About the firm:

Our client is an upcoming clean tech startup backed by well known investors in the VC space and is looking to hire a Chief of Staff (M&A).

Role Overview:

As the Chief of Staff (M&A) you will serve as a strategic bridge between the executive leadership team and our inorganic growth initiatives. You will lead the end-to-end lifecycle of complex transactions, ranging from identifying high-potential targets in the renewable energy and sustainability sectors to executing rigorous due diligence and valuation processes.

Working closely with the CEO and Board of Directors, you will act as a key advisor on corporate strategy, ensuring that every acquisition aligns with our long-term mission to accelerate the global energy transition. Your work will directly influence our market positioning, capital allocation efficiency, and the successful integration of new assets into our growing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the end-to-end M&A process, from initial deal screening to final closing, to ensure the company achieves its aggressive inorganic growth targets.

- Develop sophisticated financial models and valuation frameworks to assess the viability of potential acquisitions and provide data-backed recommendations to the leadership team.

- Orchestrate comprehensive due diligence processes by coordinating with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and technical experts, to mitigate operational and financial risks.

- Design and execute post-merger integration plans to capture synergies and ensure seamless cultural and operational alignment between the acquired entities and our existing business units.

- Manage high-stakes relationships with external stakeholders, including investment bankers, legal counsel, and potential target management teams, to maintain a robust deal pipeline.

- Draft strategic briefing documents and board presentations to facilitate informed decision-making on capital deployment and corporate development initiatives.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in building complex financial models and conducting detailed valuation analyses to support investment decisions.

- Proven ability to navigate the full M&A lifecycle, including deep experience in conducting due diligence and managing post-merger integration efforts.

- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial and strategic narratives to C-suite executives and external partners.

- Strong analytical mindset combined with the ability to synthesize large volumes of data into actionable corporate strategy.

- A background from a top-tier business school or professional services firm, complemented by 5 - 10 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, or private equity.

- High degree of adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced, on-site environment in Bangalore, where you will frequently collaborate with leadership to drive rapid business expansion.
