Description:
- Strategic planning and execution
- Drives strategic initiatives: The CoS leads and manages special, high-priority projects and initiatives that don't neatly fit into a single department, ensuring they are executed efficiently and effectively.
- Facilitates goal-setting: They work with the leadership team to set annual goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and are responsible for tracking the progress and performance of those targets.
- Analyzes growth opportunities: In the fast-paced D2C market, the CoS may research and assess new business ventures, market expansions, and product opportunities to support the brand's growth trajectory.
Operational efficiency:
- Streamlines workflows: A key responsibility is to identify and address organizational bottlenecks and inefficiencies, refining processes and procedures to boost productivity.
- Manages key meetings: The CoS plans and runs key leadership meetings, prepares agendas, and ensures decisions and action items are clearly documented and followed up on.
- Acts as a problem-solver: This individual steps in to resolve issues that arise between departments, serving as an impartial mediator to keep projects moving forward.
Communication and alignment:
- Acts as a liaison: The CoS serves as a crucial link between the executive and the rest of the organization. They filter information, manage communications, and ensure the founder's vision is clearly and consistently communicated to all teams.
- Handles internal and external communications: This may involve drafting internal memos, preparing presentations, or representing the executive in certain internal and external stakeholder meetings.
- Champions brand culture: For a luxury brand, the CoS plays a vital role in reinforcing the brand's premium culture, ensuring the core values of craftsmanship, quality, and high standards are reflected in all internal processes.
People and team management:
- Supports hiring: In close collaboration with HR, the CoS may be involved in the hiring process for high-level executive positions, helping to define roles and screen candidates.
- Provides internal consulting: They serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, offering insights and analysis on various operational and strategic issues
