Role Overview:

The Chief Marketing Officer will be the first senior marketing leader and will own the end-to-end growth and marketing charter of the company. This role combines performance marketing, growth strategy, funnel optimization, and early brand building.

The CMO will work closely with the founders, product, and data teams to drive scalable, capital-efficient growth, while laying the foundation for a strong, differentiated consumer brand over time.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Growth & Performance Marketing (Core Ownership)

- Own customer acquisition across paid and organic channels (search, social, affiliates, influencer-led growth, partnerships, app stores, etc.).

- Design and scale performance marketing engines with a strong focus on CAC, LTV, ROAS, and payback periods.

- Continuously test, iterate, and optimize channels, creatives, funnels, and budgets.

- Build structured experimentation frameworks for growth (A/B testing, cohort analysis, funnel diagnostics).

2. Full-Funnel Ownership

- Own the entire user lifecycle: acquisition - activation - engagement - retention - monetization.

- Partner closely with product and data teams to improve onboarding, activation, and retention metrics.

- Drive CRM, lifecycle marketing, and personalization strategies to maximize user value.

3. Growth Strategy & GTM

- Define and execute the overall growth and go-to-market strategy in line with business goals.

- Identify new growth levers, channels, and distribution partnerships.

- Support new feature launches and product iterations with strong GTM execution.

4. Brand & Narrative (Early-Stage Focused)

- Build the initial brand positioning, value proposition, and messaging architecture.

- Ensure brand consistency across all consumer touchpoints while remaining performance-driven.

- Balance short-term growth goals with long-term brand equity creation.

5. Data, Analytics & Decision Making

- Own growth dashboards and performance metrics; bring strong analytical rigor to marketing decisions.

- Work closely with data teams to build attribution models and cohort-based insights.

- Use insights to guide budget allocation and strategic bets.

6. Team Building & Leadership

- Build and scale a lean, high-impact growth and marketing team.

- Manage external partners, agencies, and vendors where required.

- Create a culture of experimentation, speed, and accountability.

Key Metrics of Success:

- Customer acquisition cost (CAC) and payback period

- LTV/CAC ratio and cohort retention

- Activation and conversion rates across the funnel

- Contribution margin from marketing-led growth

- Efficiency and scalability of growth channels

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 10-16 years of experience in growth and performance marketing roles within consumer tech or digital-first businesses

- Proven experience scaling customer acquisition in early-stage or high-growth environments

- Strong hands-on expertise across paid performance channels and growth experimentation

- Deep understanding of funnels, cohorts, and unit economics

- Experience working closely with founders and product teams in 0- 1 or 1- 10 journeys

- Ability to balance speed, experimentation, and capital efficiency
