Role & Responsibilities:

Chief Marketing Officer (Polymer or Engineering Plastics Trading):

Responsible for driving revenue and market share by leading global trade branding, overseeing supply-demand dynamics, and building B2B partnerships and oversee commodity polymer trends (PP, PE, PVC), negotiate high-volume contracts, manage strategic distributor relationships, and direct technical marketing for high-performance thermoplastics (e.g., PEEK, Nylon, Polycarbonates).

Manage petrochemical commodity positioning, global procurement trends, risk mitigation, and digital sales enablement.

Key Responsibilities:

Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy:

- Design and execute strategies for trading various polymers (e.g., Polyethylene, Polypropylene, PVC) across international markets.

Strategic & Financial Leadership:

- Lead global sales and sourcing, manage Profit & Loss (P&L), set pricing strategies, and establish budgets for commodity (PP, PE, PVC) and engineering plastics.

Business Development & Market Expansion:

- Identify new industrial applications, establish distribution channels, and scale market share across regions.

Commodity Market Analysis:

- Monitor petrochemical pricing fluctuations, global supply chain bottlenecks, global commodity trends (PP, PE, PVC, PET), currency fluctuations, and competitor pricing to manage risk and optimize trading margins.

B2B Brand Management:

- Build brand equity and trust among suppliers (refineries/producers), logistics providers, and industrial buyers.

Risk Management:

- Mitigate brand and reputational risks associated with supply chain disruptions, product quality issues, or geopolitical trade barriers.

Commercial Strategy & Trading:

- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for trading commodity and engineering polymers.

Vendor & Supply Chain Management:

- Negotiate pricing and long-term contracts with major global petrochemical producers, compounders, and logistics/freight providers.

- Monitor raw material price fluctuations, navigate high-volume market risks, and negotiate optimal contracts with global suppliers.

Technical Marketing & Application Development:

- Spearhead technical sales initiatives for specialized engineering compounds, driving product substitution (e.g., metal-to-plastic) in key sectors like automotive, FMCG and electronics etc.

Sales Team Leadership:

- Mentor and direct regional sales managers and technical application engineers to achieve the targets.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Revenue Growth: Target achievement in sales volume and overall market share.

- Profitability: Margin optimization against global commodity volatility.

- Supplier & Client Acquisition: Diversity of supplier networks and conversion of B2B key accounts.

- Risk-adjusted Return on Capital (RAROC): Management of credit cycles, inventory holding, and trade logistics.

- Gross profit margins on plastic raw materials and compounding resins.

- Sales volume (in Metric Tons) vs. quarterly/annual forecasts.

- Customer acquisition rates and retention in key end-use verticals.

- Inventory turnover and logistical cost optimization.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

1. Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or Chemical Engineering; MBA is highly preferred with 15-25+ years of senior marketing/commercial leadership having knowledge in specifically in polymer trading or engineering plastics trading.

2. Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, supply-demand forecasting, and CRM utilization.

3. Proven track record in B2B contract negotiations, P&L management, and global supply chain logistics.

4. Ability to communicate complex market intelligence to C-suite executives and board members.

5. Decisive leadership when navigating volatile commodity markets or supply chain crises.

6. Proficiency in CRM software, ERP (e.g., SAP), and data analytics for forecasting commodity trends.
