Role Summary:


- We are seeking a visionary and results-oriented Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to join our executive leadership team and spearhead the marketing, brand, and communications strategy for one of Eastern India's most prestigious and recognized jewelry brands.


- This leadership role is responsible for driving brand visibility, enhancing customer lifetime value, and delivering exponential revenue growth across all channels. The CMO will be the custodian of the brand identity, translating business goals into highly effective, measurable marketing outcomes.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities


1. Strategic Leadership & Planning:


- Marketing Strategy: Define and lead the comprehensive three-year marketing strategy, integrating brand, product, digital, and retail marketing efforts to achieve market leadership and maximize ROI.


- Budget Management: Oversee the entire marketing budget (OPEX and CAPEX), allocating resources strategically across channels (digital, OOH, print, experiential) to optimize spend efficiency.


- Market Intelligence: Conduct deep market analysis to identify emerging trends in consumer behavior, competitor strategy, and technological advancements within the luxury and jewelry retail space. Translate these insights into actionable strategies.


2. Brand Management & Communication:


- Brand Custodianship: Act as the primary champion of the brand identity, ensuring consistency in messaging, visual identity, and tone of voice across all customer touchpoints and public relations efforts.


- Integrated Campaigns: Design and execute impactful, 360-degree marketing campaigns (digital, print, TV/media, experiential, in-store activation) that drive engagement, consideration, and footfall/website traffic.


- PR & Media Relations: Manage high-level public relations, corporate communications, and reputation management, especially concerning high-value product launches and major brand announcements.


3. Digital Marketing & E-commerce Growth:


- Digital Leadership: Drive the entire digital marketing strategy, including SEO, SEM, social media engagement, content marketing, and performance marketing (paid search, display, retargeting).


- E-commerce P&L: Take ownership of the e-commerce channel's performance, focusing on conversion rate optimization (CRO), user experience (UX), and achieving ambitious online revenue targets.


- CRM & Data Analytics: Implement and leverage advanced Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and marketing automation platforms to execute personalized campaigns, increase customer retention, and maximize customer lifetime value (CLV).


4. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:


- Talent Development: Lead, mentor, and expand a talented, multi-disciplinary marketing team (Brand Managers, Digital Specialists, Content Creators, Visual Merchandisers). Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and data-driven experimentation.


- Sales Alignment: Collaborate closely with the Sales and Product teams to ensure marketing initiatives directly support inventory movement, new collection launches, and regional sales goals.


- Agency Management: Select, manage, and evaluate external agencies (creative, media buying, PR) to ensure high-quality output and cost-effective partnership.


Candidate Qualifications:


- Experience: 14-22 years of progressive marketing experience, with a minimum of 5+ years in a senior leadership role (VP of Marketing, Head of Marketing, or CMO), managing large budgets and diverse teams.


- Industry Expertise (Mandatory): Proven, deep experience in hardcore retail, advertising, or luxury/high-value consumer goods. Direct experience in the Jewellery or luxury segment is a significant advantage.


- Track Record: A demonstrable history of delivering measurable business impact, including significant brand equity growth and quantifiable contributions to revenue and market share expansion.


- Education: Bachelors degree is required; an MBA or advanced qualification in Marketing/Strategy is highly desirable.


Core Competencies:


- Exceptional strategic thinking and financial acumen (P&L responsibility).


- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills (English and regional languages are a plus).


- Deep understanding of the media landscape in Eastern India.


- Proficiency in modern marketing technology stacks (MarTech, Analytics, CRM).
